New Parent groups in English

This sounds like a really great idea! I live in Trondheim and am expecting my 2nd in late Feb/ early March... My experience with the helsestasjon wasn't so bad, but I did find it hard to fit into my barselgruppe as my norwegian wasn't so good at the time. Would have been nice to have some of the info in english! Looking forward to hearing more :) Amanda in Trondheim

Hi,
We recently moved back to Norway. My husband is European so it was reasonably easy and we have lived here before so we had identity numbers which makes a big difference. We got schengen visas before we came across and then applied for all our stuff while we were here. If you have time it may better to do your applications before getting here.
Have a look at this site it should have ...

Hi, I agree it can be difficult to find friendships in a new city! Do you speak norwegian at all? Like I commented in another post, the New to Bergen group meets once a month at Dickens at 6 pm, first Friday of the month. You may meet some moms-to-be there! Have you tried an international church if you are so inclined? Have you asked your helsesøster if she knows any pregnant english-speakers?...

Hi,
I am so sorry for your loss! I know how badly it hurts to lose a baby as I, too, lost a baby girl in week 30. I lost my baby 9.5 years ago, so it is not recent, but at times it feels like it happened yesterday.
I am American, my husband is Norwegian. At the time I lost our baby, I did not speak Norwegian (don't know if this is the case with your partner??) and found it difficult to ...
