I think you should be able to get approved even without an
interpreter. After all there are oral Deaf people on SSI, aren't there? Not to mention if they deny you you can always appeal. I'm going through this process myself right now.

Tell ur boss to watch you do customer service esp when stocking shelves and if a customer comes and asks you for something, just do anything to make a sale and u will impress the boss. If u can read lips and have good speech skills that no plm. I know some deafies do
cashiers at walmart or target, but it isnt my kind of job I would wanna do there.

i had
ssi while i waited for my ss disability to kick in. i only had to apply once but it took along dang time before i got any benefits from either one. its a pain in the bottom to get started sometimes. if you have a specialist who can verify that you have a disability and need ssi and have them put it in writing than sometimes it can help to speed things along.

It depends on location.
I know some people who get $1,000 to $1,200 for SSI.
