FYI. This is a link to literature about APC products and requests a lot of personal information for access. While APC publishes a great deal of useful information in their white papers, I believe these registration walls are an inaccurate and very annoying way to gather (and possibly abuse) information about potential customers. Proceed at your own risk. Ken

Hi Oigen, Do you have any experience in the data center industry or even any general IT experience or qualifications? If not then I would start of by hiring or talking to some type of adviser who can explain you exactly what you would need so that you can plan a budget and make a business plan.

Why not put it on a shelf? Secure it with velcro or zip ties. If you need to block airflow through the cabinet, cut a hole in a 3U blanking panel for the device to poke through. Ken

You raise a very valid point - personally, I've not had any issues running any switches that are mounted in the rear of the rack with the air flow design "the wrong way round". However, if you are supoer concerned, why not just cable everything to the front of the rack with slightly longer network cables?

I am mostly interested in the possibilities of merging a data center with another building type(s) to create a hybrid where the heat of the data centers will be heating the other spaces in the building. It will be located in Boston, MA. I need to make some rudimentary ...
