Generic deamons, theres a bad place beyond this world, evil things live there and they are after your soul. Only the Emperor can save you, follow him and be saved, stay away from the deamons and tell us if you see anything suspicious. That kind of thing, nothing too specific mostly as i figure the average imperial citizen would be taught the signs of such a thing (as to identify its "evil" and report it) but not that such...

Being the devil's advocate: Watching a physical phenomenon like the Eye from afar need not mean that you accept that daemons exits. Knowing that there is an alternate dimension though which starships travel is not the same as accepting that this place is also Hell. And so on... One of the things I don't like with the current take on Chaos is that it belittles its evil and insidious (its more like a splatter move these days) -...

I pretty much don't have a single problem with that last post.   The only variation would just how pervasive the whole "only the Emperor can save you" shtick is, which again gets back to how you view the Imperium in terms of analogy to the Catholic Church of medieval Europe. It's all good, though. Kage

New GM with Massive Group
Published (2009-11-30 03:02:00)
OK, advice from someone who has GMed once for DH, when you hit 5 players, things do get a little out of control for newbies at it. Depending on player level will determine if you are capable of doing it effectively or not. In my group we had one player who knew DH and a good amount of history for 40K, so he was the biggest help since he could explain things to the other players (1 who had played DoW I, and the other two who had never RPed in...

Quote from: Azamuki on November 29, 2009, 02:46:45 AM I myself at this point have a WP of 70 (that was a whole lot of luck + exp spend to get that)... Given that in Dark Heresy the max starting is 45 for being Void Born, and plus 20 for all four advances I'm kind of curious how you have more than 65 in total.

My new con scenario thread
Published (2009-12-08 08:02:00)
Hmmm that part about the DNA codes could be a problem for the purists. Since its only a three hour scenario, I wont have time to develop a backstory to explain it all. I'll probably go with a general 'they got enough information to make it work'. Anybody have thoughts on the zoanthrope stat's? EDIT. I also need to work out the level of PC's that can handle that. I was thinking of level 3/4. Any...

Its ok they got back together.... then the guardsman got himself killed... by an inquisitor... It wouldnt have worked anyway, the cleric is a combat tank, and the guardsman had got himself some 'allies'... but its fine now

Tyranid scouts ships in Battle Fleet Gothic are called Vanguard drones.  There are also the Kraken which tend to just rip ships apart.  Both are non-intelligent and operate on an instinctive level unless a hive ship is near.  Both types range out in front of a hive fleet.  They often run in mixed packs. From BFG book.  (You should be able to find these on the GW site under specialist games for...

You could have them find the remnants of a battle, with bolter shells on the ground and chunks of power armor. Maybe some blood one of them can send to a lab can examine, and realize it's Marine blood. Howls in the night could be neat. Vague messages like "The wolf is hunting" or something like that. Have the examiner be suspicious, and run off at random moments. If he came in on the battle scene, he could shepherd...

Well, one rogue marine isn't enough to call out the imperial navy (but possibly enough for an epic boss), but the sheer power and number of the groups looking for him could very well be.

First, if you're committed enough to buy another book, there's great campaign advice for each of the three Ordos in Creatures Anathema. Generally, it's better to start off a little low-key. However, the Ordo Malleus primarily concerns itself with Daemonic activity, If the PCs are working for them, they may find themselves thrown up against something serious rather quickly. Any contact with the ...

What I've been running in my current campaign is a much more liberal approach than no one knows anything. I use a couple basic guidelines. 1) The average citizen of the Imperium knows that there are "ruinous powers" and that they corrupted Horus and his traitor legions. 2) The average citizen sees these ruinous powers as an invisible boogyman who wants their souls and if anyone seems to be ...

Good ideas As for the Tryanids, the organic ships you read about are actually organisms that grow up to be ships. Not actual ships converted to organic. Genestealers are kind of an infiltration force for the tryanids. They sneak in and corrupt the genepool making creepy tyranid/human crossbreeds. So the idea of turning into a fleshy hulk isn't normally done by the tryanids. If that is what you ...

My advice is to just hand the acolytes the situation and let them run with it. They're at the ball when a number of nobles begin slaughtering Imperial dignitaries: what do they do? First, what do you allow them to bring to the ball? Can they come in toting their entire armory or are they simply allowed sidearms for show's sake? If the former then they can proceed to burning the heretic. If the ...

Nulls, humans with negative psi ability who are unaffected by anything from the warp and do in fact dampen and hinder warp abilities. Or just throw one of the nasty warp entities at him, astral specture should funk everyones day up, or if your feeling very vindictive a Enslaver. Another option is just to give the NPC's there going up against really high INT and PER values, or equip them with ...
