UxS, TxS .... I reakon if the Kensington reader does dissapear with nothing from them to replace it then we just use KxS as a general term to mean non SxS ;-) We all know its origins and thats what's important!

I still don't believe Sony had anything to do with this. The first week we discovered this solution, the Kensington card was already over two years old and we had heard from some it was being discontinued.

B&H Price on EX1 Drops $200...
Published (2008-11-18 22:11:00)
Well, let me inject some reality in the discussion: what you're saying would be perfectly reasonable, in a reasonable world, but we're talking about Sony here. What I have been told by dealers is this: you sell an EX1 for less than $6449, you lose your right to sell the EX line. No leeway, no questions asked, you turn in an invoice that shows less than $6449 and <poof> your license is pulled. Doesn't matter what...

Memory door not closing with KxS...

Excellent work Fodeesha. Door problem is now SOLVED! Good idea to seal the end up with a bit of tape/glue and make a tab to pull out the card, though as stevet says it would probably be more sensible to leave the cards in the reader and just buy more readers and a cheap usb card reader for offload.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in an office meeting of Sony Exec's in charge of the Sony Ex Range. This is like people suddenly finding out that tap water makes their cars run just like diesel. How long are they going to stick to their stubborn SxS prices? You been rumbled Sony......give up the SxS Card prices.

Alternate Lenses for the EX3
Published (2008-11-18 01:20:00)
That adapter looks like a great way to adapt Nikon lenses to the EX3, assuming it works well. Any chance of a Canon EOS (EF) mount adapter? If it existed, and worked well, I'd be all over the EX3/Canon EF combination.

I have never seen jello on my EX1, not even on overcranked shots. Though I have only shot a few shorts with it so I guess it remains to be seen whether jello will appear later.

Oooh, now this is interesting. I've been told by several dealers that Sony is enforcing a minimum sales price of $6449 and any dealer that violates that price (meaning, sells it for any less) will have their dealership pulled from them. Wonder if B&H faces losing their dealership, or if Sony will back down when the biggest reseller in the world thumbs their nose at them? or, if B&H ...

I know the camera stops recording well before the battery dies, and I have yet to see any camera display of battery time remaining be anything more than a rough guide, I'd never ever assume just because it says I have 60min left I would get anything more than 20-30 at best. I know on some older Sony cameras they would say 200min and the owner would tell me that meant about 90min at best...

Ben, I tried to duplicate what you described and the files didn't revert to earlier numbers, but sequenced up, as one would expect. This is using firmware 1.05, fyi.

Hi, I shot some footage at 720/50p assuming that when I edit it in a 25p sequence in FCP I'm going get a slow motion clip. Yet the clip plays back at normal speed. I tried to slow it down (time remap) thinking that "hidden" frames would reappear. Instead - of course - what I got was the standard frame blended slomo variety. What am I doing wrong? How do I get 50p footage to play back 25p? ...

Howdy... Thought you all might enjoy seeing what happened on my last shoot... Last Friday I shot a property for JP King Auctions. It was a ski lodge at Snowshoe Mountain, WV. Beautiful place... Towards the end of the video, we decided to include a piece called 'Soaring Eagle At Night'... I was worried about how the EX would perform in such low light, and with progressively more gain ...

So I was out shooting last week, and this odd shape showed up in one clip I recorded. Didn't even notice till I got home and started editing. It was only in this one clip, and completely disappeared and hasn't reappeared since. All I can figure is it was a stuck aperture blade, and after we kept walking/changing aperture it jiggled back where it should be? I don't know. perhaps COSMIC RAYSSSS...
