Fs- Onkyo Tx-sr705 Black Receiver

This is a well-specified A/V Receiver, with plenty of grunt. I would say this should fetch between $800.00 and $1,000.00. Dan.

QUOTE (cinema mad @ Nov 7 2009, 02:20 AM) It Appears that the Audyssey Sub EQ is About to get A new firmware update released, Here is what Chris posted only A few mins ago about it.... The MultEQ XT filter resolution of the Sub Equalizer is indeed twice what is possible in AVRs or PrePros because we can use the entire DSP chip in the Sub Equalizer to process the signal. The filters are not 128 points, they are thousands of...

If your happy to go with second hand LuckyDog on this forum has almost finished his clear out sale, but still has a pair of TAG 3.5 speakers for $2k. RRP of them back in the day was $7k and having seen them myself they are still in magnificent condition. Worth a look see and a listen if you can. You could look around for other 2nd hand goodies to fill the other spots as well.

QUOTE (roachy @ Nov 5 2009, 12:44 PM) But as many others have, I've voted with my wallet. It's actually the second AVR i've bought from Singapore this year. +1 QUOTE (dantan @ Nov 5 2009, 01:34 PM) I have been noticing the incredible pricing in Singapore for the Marantz AV8003 Surround Sound Processor - Yorac did mention about AUD$2,500.00 shipped to Australia, including taxes, etc....

QUOTE (Lyle @ Nov 4 2009, 05:59 PM) Silly question I suppose, but have you listened to the 'upgrade speakers"? Nah, i had been hoping to go early this week, but work has been so busy i havent been able to take an extended lunch break (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif ) . You haven't actually stipulated what your budget is? If you like the SVS units why not look at a PB12-plus at around $2k? QUOTE (Bertzz @ Nov 7 2009, 08:43 AM) I am looking to buy a sub and the SVS PB-13 Ultra would be my first choice but at $3K its out of reach. I would also love a Vel DD-15 but thats even more. So I am left looking for a less capable product or a secondhand one. If anyone has...

QUOTE (Tassie Devil @ Nov 6 2009, 10:29 AM) I'll email the manufacturer but any other suggestions very welcome. A phone call to support might get a quicker and more satisfactory answer. QUOTE (Gizmodium @ Nov 5 2009, 03:59 PM) I can tell you from my own experiences that the S606 mains do benefit from being bi-amped. Also, there is a polarity issue with the internal wiring and they should be connected to the amp from + to - rather than + to +, - to -. Strange I know, but it does work wonders. There's a large thread about it on Whirlpool if you're interested in a read. Thanks Buddy, Ill have a play...

The photos show the receiver is gold in colour. Are these photos from a unit from Asia and not yours? I'm told that gold is the only colour they have for these in HK and Singapore and that they are much cheaper there, like $500 to $600. You seem pretty happy with it, correct? Thanks for posting your review

Firstly, what is your budget? Velodyne is a safe bet because sub-woofers are pretty much all that they manufacture. What size is your lounge/home-theatre room? Dan.

Hi lonewulf ; Its interesting your looking at the deftechs as they have a similar dipole output [front/ back] as an electrostatic would ; one reason you would need to place them a fair way away from the back wall as Al says . QUOTE Frequency Response :13 Hz - 30 kHz No +/- freq response limits but if that is at all accurate you could well do without a seperate sub if you wished. ...

QUOTE (bpratt @ Nov 4 2009, 12:34 PM) Do yourself a favour, and don't be too stingy on the amount of cable in the wall. For what it costs you in extra cable, it'll save you a lot of money down ...

QUOTE (Scotto83 @ Nov 1 2009, 04:16 PM) Some people still continue to run a component cable in their setups, but if your amp upconverts to hdmi their isnt really any need, but thats just my opinion ofcourse. Thanks mate for the kind words and the pics. The dB figures Stuart has modelled for each sub with the chosen amp are very impressive (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif ) They aren't going to lack for output thats for sure. With regards to HT and 2ch integration, ill have a look at that soon. Anyone know of devices to 'sum' channels E. g go to this thread
