QUOTE (Baaz @ Nov 30 2009, 10:44 AM) HI Guys, Thinking of buying one of these units just to use as a HD Digital recorder. Can someone clarify for me that it is possible to connect it to a HD Dig TV as well as an old analogue set It has HDMI, component and composite out so will connect to old and new TVs OK

QUOTE (EmmaB @ Nov 24 2009, 12:04 PM) I have been trying to bring up captions on my new AD181X without success. The little manual isn't much help. I am trying to get them through "subtitle" but can't get any further. Reading through the forum, though, is there a problem with captions? Use simple language, please! Thanks. It's me again. My better-half rang the 1300 number on the cover...

QUOTE (johndee @ Nov 29 2009, 03:05 PM) My German is non-existant, but it may not be spam. I think that someone may be thinking that .AU is Austria, not Australia. JB I dont think so, this person only just joined and the same day posted the same links in many many threads, including new ones. It is just spam. How many posters do you know of that had to post 10-15 threads in one day??

Slippery Slop - I've just purchased the same STB. When I ring BUSH they want me to send the box back for the firmware update! Do you still have the firmware update they emailed you? If so, any chance of a copy? Thanks heaps ...

QUOTE (tvmike @ Nov 22 2009, 11:53 AM) After setting time zone with or without daylight on, the EPG is always one hour behind. This is major issue for the STB number one feature to record. Factory reset or power off does not update time. Is this a bug or can we set the clock manually like other units? I thought this was the case also but after setting it to summer time it did correct itself later, perhaps it only syncs the...

Just picked one up... been looking to get a HD STB but didn't want to get lumped with legacy crap... seems this thing will be "Freeview" compliant. No S-Video. Bummer. The OSD is in no way CRT-friendly, or small LCD friendly for that matter. Other complaint is that the power cord is utterly rediculously short. Recorded to my 512 meg USB/MP3 stick. Seemed to be going OK but hung forever saying it's Finalising. Only...

QUOTE (jeffpr @ Nov 19 2009, 07:46 PM) how many hours would you get on a 20 gb or 10 gb usb? Depends if it's HD or SD. SD you could get about 12 hours on 20 gigs. HD I think is about 3 or 4 hours on 20 gigs. I would get an SDHC card reader as they will probably get as cheap as DVD with the next 2 years or so (SDHC cards = Modern day cassette). But a PVR where you buy your own ...

This is the only STB I ever bought back in 2001 for about $900. I left it on 24/7 since new and surprise to see it is still going strong all these years. Other than a rather non-responsive remote it is pretty decent in every other way. No problem picking up all the new HD/SD channels.
