What year is the car? Does it have a lot of rust? If its really rusty I would not bother with it, rust is hard to get rid of. Although, 900 is a pretty sweet deal you could buy a bunch of mods.

90 throttle body vacuum ports
Published (2009-12-04 09:34:00)
Yea, believe me, I didn't like like running all new vacuum hose through my car either, but it is really nice to get the stuff out of the way to diagnose all the problems these cars have down the road as they are all getting much older. You'll be happy when its done, and my MPG has gone way up since I got rid of all of those unnecessary parts.

How many miles? Check for leaks, make sure the turbo is what the owner claims it to be, and check out the tranny.

Do you have a wideband o2 gauge? That may be more beneficial to you, but since you've got this, it won't hurt to have it on until you get better things.
You shouldn't have to weld a bung or anything, you should just have to drill and tap a hole in your exhaust manifold. At least thats all I had to do with my Autometer pyrometer.
Basically what the gauge will do is give you a general ...

What happened to the motor that you need to rebuild? You heard right a
stock 4G block will handle 350hp with some power to spare. If you are going
to buy a rebuild kit, I wound not go cheap with parts. 1g rods, 2g pistons,
new rings, new bearings, and of course get everything checked out by a
machine shop if your going to go the full nine yards with the block. Even
that I think is way overkill ...

if you are going to autocross and want a fast spool go with the td05 housing. If you are looking for more top end pull and can withstand the lag go with the TD06. The td06 is a bit more efficient and more top end. But for instance using a 20G, most all td05 20g's are clipped for top end, however clipping hurts efficiency and spool.

First off, some of us don't like being called grease monkey.
Was the rubber like a big ring? If so I bet you $100 I know what it was. And when you say the engine sounds like it's at 7k, do you mean just volume wise? Because a bad exhaust leak will be very loud. BTW if you plan to keep paying people to work on your DSM, I hope you have DEEP pockets. This is not an engine the average joe bum ...
