If you're new to the game I advise carrying plasters for those innevitable cuts you're going to get and a pair of tweezers for removing splinters. They've come in handy for a good few times and they don't take up any space. Oh and a telescopic magnet (size of a pen) for reaching those tiny screws you're going to drop down the backs of units.

if he is selling it, talk to a friendly property solicitor about putting a charge against the house. apparently this is simple to do, but i would imagine you would need to have verifiable grounds for doing this, like maybe a ccj - or even just evidence of unpaid invoices might do? i only know the general concept, not the details, but worth a look. when my ex put her house up, a solicitor friend called and asked if i knew it had been...

I understand that. But if you are at house A at 10am and House B at 2pm and House C at 4pm and they cannot tell you what time they are delivering then it is not a possible transaction.

Hello All. Not 'ranting', but more of an observation. . With modern 'containment' methods for electrical installations I feel that the 'art' of being an electrician in commercial/industrial environments is dying a rapid, untidy death. Basket tray and a combination of LSF T&E AND FP have been used on the last two fairly large contracts I was on. Stubs of conduit were bushed and left in 'free air'...

There's work out there if you're lucky enough to pick it up, but there's certainly not enough for everyone.
Talking to my ex colleagues, there still plenty of work in the large domestic market, but again Mr average don't get a look in as it's specialist work.

ours is around 600mm away from the electric meter. all inspected and signed off ok. hope that helps.

The local self storage we use aren't that fussed about charging an xx amount per week for this - they accept, sign, get the forklift truck out and put it in our storage unit. Now that's service __________________ You buy quality, we'll advise. You buy rubbish, we won't!

OK, so let's try and get this right. The upstairs light would appear to be part of a 2-way circuit, as the presence of blue/yellow indicates there's a 3-core cable in there, probably linked to another switch on the landing. Be careful, as the number of wires present at the switch would suggest to me that the landing light is fed via the upstairs switch. If you have separate upstairs/...
