fibreglass dry valley?

yes ive done the standard fibreglass valleys and always cement them but these have a upstand down the centre of the valley and you cut to the upstand no cement to be used but they do look a bit ugly just wondered if any one had had any bad experiences with blockage cos dont want to go back to 90 houses cos valley gutters are blocked after 12 months

Concrete tiles vs manmade
Published (2009-12-14 12:54:00)
By Redwood I'm assuming you mean Redland. At 14 Degrees your options are limited to something like a Decra steel tile such as a Stratos or indeed concrete, if it could just creep up a degree to 15 then a Redland Cambrian could be used, this being a reconstituted slate it would be in keeping with the rest of the house, the only concrete tile that can be used at that pitch would be something like a Redland Regent which would look...

Please could I have your opinions of whether I need to change my pitched roof to a flat roof. The roof on my house extention leaks so I am going to get some roofers to quote for repair, or to change to a flat roof. It leaks around the corners of the upstairs bay window, and drips into my livingroom below. Ive included some photos, and below is a list of things which I guess need ...

im doing this on a job at moment and am removing bottom tile.cutting defective old rubberoid felt.using 6mm ply from fascia ,up the rafter so theres a slope forward.laying 300mm dpc, ensuring a minimum 150mm lap under the existing felt.then replacing the tile. makes sense to use the board while you are replacing the fascias.

Popular guy eh. Well, for the benefit of anyone with a similar quandry: I tried the bitumen mastic, but that stuff is seriously unpleasant to use, especially on smooth wet surfaces (couldn't find my blowtorch) you can basically forget about tooling it - it sticks to everything except what u want it to stick to. Not helped by the fact that i was working off a ladder, i decided to try ...

we have a slight leak coming from the end of a pitched roof into the corner of the bedroom ceiling, there is no damage to the tiles and cannot see anything to show how the rain is coming through if i apply some of this stuff would it do the job? from what i have gathered the acrylic stuff is better than mastic http://www.wickes.co.uk/High-Performance-Acrylic-W aterproofer/invt/...

Some roofers are lazy. With a little effort and the correct depth of fascia, the kick provided by the fascia can set the first tile at the precise angle as all the others above. As a default some roofers will install a deeper fascia guaranteeing adequate or more than adequate kick. In some instances where wall plate heights vary but the birdsmouth cut has been kept the ...

No, you do not necessarily need a ridge vent.

hi mate do not use osb its crap any money you try save now will cost you later on if you are felting the roof you will get away with using 18mm cdx (basic ply) doesnt have to be marine or external as long as you will be finishing it quickly and not leaving it exposed to the elements. i use it all the time silicone between all joints and screw every 9" it will be fine
