Its not clear to me exactly what you have done. If you only changed the flattish front part the the rear manifold part may be jammed in the DHW position. Or you left a CH valve underneath closed. Or the CH return filter is clogged. __________________ ARGI Registered Engineer

You need 7 minutes to get the heat out of the HE. I thought there were two pump over runs, heating and hot water, as designated by the different status codes Your problem could be a system design problem and/or pipe sizing. Not the first I've heard of with an exclusive not heating the property properly though. Don't like them myself __________________ Dave DRL Gas...

Hi All Have a megatech HW cylinder heated by a Vailant ecotec 428 boiler. I've noticed that the boiler's water pressure increases from 1.0bar cold, to 1.6bar when hot - is that normal, or does that indicate a fault with the boilers expansion vessel (for example) Also, if i turn the HW and CH off for a few days, when I turn back on, a small amount of water is discharged from...

thanks for your comments...the fire is in the lounge in front of the former open fire. it is sealed with the usual ally cover with a good updraught. the gas engineer cut the pipe, bent it and capped the tap outlet...it is safe but disconnected. It has been used for years and the user is a responsible person. I want to know if the rules demand FFD's on all gas fires whether existing or new. ...

He is one of the idiots who fits over sized boilers! You dont need much experience to know 24 kW will heat a five bedroom detached house! A typical semi needs about 11-12 kW for heating and you add 2 kW for the hot water cylinder. So a 15 kW boiler is fine. Its not just the maximum power thats relevant. If the boiler is too powerful then it does not modulate down far ...

My system is about a year old. I had to bleed my up stairs radiators last night as there was a lot of air in them. This morning the heating would not kick in. Hot water is fine. I noticed the presssure was down so have increased it to about 1.5 bars but the heating system will still not fire up. The termostat is up and displays it is working. I have reset the system 3-4 times. Each time I reset...
