Of the 200 plus recipients of my systems TWO have suffered attempted burglaries and in BOTH cases the alarms activated as designed. All alarms set and unset without false alarms as intended and I DO NOT have to run round 24/7 sorting out problems.

yes thank you i have read about alarm cables needing to be away from mains. Unfortunately it is almost impossible not to corss them at some point. I noticed they sell somthing called "ACT 1313 12V Spike Suppressor" do these allow alarm cable to run near mains? My RKP in the bedroom passes alongside a lighting cable. The lighting able is in a steel conduit. hope this doesnt cause havok!!!!

That's just like an electrician saying he knows how to fit an alarm system, or an artist saying he knows how to paint the side of a house

I'd also love to know how a filter can be fitted to wireless equipment to alleviate any RF problems. This forum is full of bulls**t-people claiming anything wireless is useless. 12 years of my career were designing radio based communication equipment used for critical applications such as emergency service...

Hello all,
Apologies up front if there is a similar post to this - I'm having to post quickly at work (internet access policy!)
(I USED to have a PC at home until earlier in the week, then got burgled - joy )
Anyway, I need to get a domestic alarm installed pretty quick as I don't want it happening again and I would prefer to use a registered local company.
I ...

Wired is best, despite what the Wireless Brigade say.
Almost zero risk of the system being compromised as the wiring is protected and cannot be reached by burglars ( assuming it is installed correctly )
Despite what the Wireless Brigade say any systems using wireless for their communication can be compromised by jamming in various ways that will make them in-effective as a ...

The alarm requires defaulting , this will give you a user code with which to control the alarm. It may be wise to replace the back up battery at the same time.

It is most likely a tamper fault with the external bell box.
This would cause an activation even if the alarm was unset.
The bell box may have worked loose if the plugs holding it on have worked loose. (soft mortar / wind and rain over time)

I haven't tried the wireless Friedland alarms before but I do have extensive experience of using Pet friendly sensors with the Yale wireless alarms.
You have set yourself a little bit of a challenge as the Pet friendly sensors can be made to work very well , however cats do present a difficult challenge.
The problem with cats and allthough you may think you know them , they live a...
