Qualification age for
medical treatment at the General is around 60 for women, depending on your UK retirement age. This entitles her partner to treatment if he is the same age - he will not have to wait until he reaches 65 to qualify.
Should you still not qualify for that option, then bring with you from the UK an E106, this will entitle you to treatment for 2 years but is not renewable...

Given that probate can take about three years to complete, you need an executor available locally to deal with matters as they may arise. It doesn't have to be the
solicitor who draws up the will. If you already have the solicitor who wrote the will as executor, you should get that changed. before you pop your clogs by means of a codicil.
