Hi Rhona. If your total income including interest from savings is less than a certain amount then you should only be paying 3% Defence contibution. But you have to claim the over payment back. Here is ananwer from Nigel Howarth on another forum in May this year . The standard rate is 10% however should an individual's total income form all sources (that is, pension and bank interest) be less than €11,970 (CYP 7,000) then their defence...

If you don't ventilate the room (letting in cold air), you run the risk of carbon monoxide and condensation. I would certainly suggest them as unsuitable for anyone with respiratory problems.

JIM Is that stuff you drink REALLY 60% proof? That would knock my block off!! Looks like quite a few of you have partaken in the 'evil' drink then. And, I bet there are a few stories to go with some of the occassions - especially you Charnwood Blue! MB

Yeh Maggie, I had to go for a good sit down after my escapade on the bouncy castle never mind a day on the piste I see myself doing a few relaxed lengths in the indoor heated pool and let the boys get on with it. Teresa

You misunderstood me I think, Jim. I meant just two alternative angles- the first pointing where it is now, and the second where the webcam would be motored approx 135º around to the left (to point towards the Annassis and Aphrodites Baths). I didn't mean for it to take panning shots within that angular range. Cheers- AL

Sue. There was a quite long debate about heating on here some time ago and as I remember there is a separate meter and box and it is not that cheap to run, also you may not have a big enough electrical supply for this type of heating as most houses/villas here only have a 40 AMP. supply. But have a look at this; http://www.cyprusliving.org/phpbb/nfphpbb/viewtopic.php?t=18769&highlight=electricity Geoff.

Qualification age for medical treatment at the General is around 60 for women, depending on your UK retirement age. This entitles her partner to treatment if he is the same age - he will not have to wait until he reaches 65 to qualify. Should you still not qualify for that option, then bring with you from the UK an E106, this will entitle you to treatment for 2 years but is not renewable...

Given that probate can take about three years to complete, you need an executor available locally to deal with matters as they may arise. It doesn't have to be the solicitor who draws up the will. If you already have the solicitor who wrote the will as executor, you should get that changed. before you pop your clogs by means of a codicil. It won't matter to you when you are dead, but your...

Hi. Sorry that I cant help you but as we have been and are going through the same thing for 2 years now I do feel for you. To talk to the owner usually doesnt help, in our experience anyway. Thankfully we are moving in a couple of months to our own house. The barking dog problem is one of the few things that is making me angry (and very tired ) about Cyprus. Jeanne In all honesty, with the cash involved, I think it would be best to ask your 15 year old which one they would like. There are so many variants (some jsut play music, some play music and videos etc etc) and you should also ask what colour they would like. Or else it will be an unhappy Xmas all round.
