Windows won't load up...

With a repair install you shouldn't loose anything but your windows updates but of course with windows there is never a guarantee.. You may have bad sectors on your harddrive also but give it a try.. If you have another computer you could slave your drive in that computer & backup anything on the drive you can't live without..

It's telling you that the System Restore points are infected. Those files cannot be cleaned. To get rid of infection there, you'll have to delete all System Restore files. You don't want to use infected restore points anyway. To delete them, right click My Computer, left click Properties. Go to the System Restore tab and check "Turn off System Restore," click Apply. Ok the warning message. Once it's...

Did download it, but it thinks AVG is still on my system and won't attempt an install, even though I uninstalled AVG. Ho hum, at least I know there's a couple of viruses on the system.

Problems saving and sending...

Hi AnneMarie, just a bit of a follow up. I got my PC back and it's up and running fine. I am told I had all sorts registry problems that appear to have been caused by a power surge. I don't know how they can tell that but at least it wasn't something that got in there. I do have a surge protector but it didn't do it's job so I'll be getting a new one. Thanks again for trying to help but it seems this was something...

Help ASAP
Published (2009-01-05 23:44:00)
What didn't work? Usually takes me about 3-4 hours to do it, I noticed it didn't take you but 32 minutes to respond to my last post. What went wrong? I just read your other post. If all you can do is read what files are listed on the disk look for one named setup.exe and click to open. This should start the install process, if a setup.exe exists.
