Just noticed your comment about headphones. Do you not have a separate headphones jack on the computor or the speakers?

Web at library safe?

Quote: Do you mean to log into the wifi access or an acount on a website where you put the credit card info? Dahli meant a website account. A better suggestion, and certainly safer, is to put a Linux distro on a USB key and boot from that at the library (I've done it many times at different library systems). Do your banking/purchasing, then remove the key and reboot. Your history should go out the front door with you when you leave.

I would use DVD authoring program and create a seperate "chapter" containing each movie and then use a title page(s) with each movie having it's own thumbnail image. Doesn't have to be burned to a physical DVD, just leave it on hard disk. In fact I may just try that myself at home.

Laptop freezing
Published (2009-01-04 13:40:00)
I have a Compaq Presario v3000 running windows XP SP3 that is totally frustrating me. It boots up OK, I can work for a bit then it becomes incredibly slow before freezing altogether. Most of the time the only thing that seems to be working is the mouse as you can move the pointer everywhere but can't open anything. 5 minutes later the whole thing freezes and I can't do anything. I've scanned for viruses, unistalled unused...

I need some advise guys. My wifes laptop is acting up. If you boot the computer up normally the computer runs very very slow...especially when browsing the internet. In safe mode w/networking it runs much smoother. Thus I ran (in normal mode and safe mode) every free virus/spyware program that was recomended in devons post on this message board at www.blackknightsclan.com (using spysweeper, spybot, avg, adaware se, etc...). I managed to find a...

I should mention, I tried creativemediaplayer/organizer 3.30 21 but only to have come up with an error message so, I deleted the set up from my computer to try something new. Again, any media player suggestions. Thanks kindly people

Hello Mike - welcome to the CTH Forum - I believe your problem could result from a variety of issues, which might involve hardware, software, or malware - Visit the Cyber Safety Forum guidelines HERE - check AnnMarie's directions about running a Hijack This scan and posting the log - start a 'new' thread in that forum and paste your log into a post - the experts there will take a look - good luck!

Hi all, I'm new here and it looks like a pretty good forum too here's my query: Recently I posted some videos of airplane projects on PUTFILE and was shocked to find that some friends could not open the videos because they got a STOP page by Italian cyber police! The page said BEWARE don't go any further, you could do so at your own risk etc etc... After this I became ...

No problems in playing, click on the title off goes the film. I have also the DVD covers to these films mostly in jpg format. So to choose a film we view the covers (full screen) in ...

I have a Dell Laptop and a month ago it started going off if it set idle for a few minutes. When I sign back on it says the reason it went off is because it is set in suspend mode. I never set it on that. I don`T know how to get it off suspend. I have looked everywhere. Please help?
