ADSL and wireless router

Hello dsrtwmyn, Yes, it is possible to connect two routers together. You need to disable the DHCP server in the second router and changing the range so both routers are in the same subnet to make this work. You'll plug the second router to the main router either by connecting the regular port to regular port using crossover cable (or straight patch if one port there an Uplink port). For example, the main router would use 192.168.1.1 with...

After trying to solve this problem for the last couple of weeks I think I might have managed to rectify it shortly after posting here. I previously typed ' ipconfig /release' and then ' ipconfig /renew' into Command Prompt but nothing ever came of it, I tried the same commands when the laptop was connected without encryption and it seemed to do something. I then rebooted the router and the laptop a couple of times and now...

Wow, you have done alot already. Not sure but it may be compatiblity issue between the router and the Wireless device. If you have access to a different wireless card other than built in like a USB wireless adapter or something like that you can determine if the built in is problem or OS issue(driver or something). this is at least another ave to try. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

ADSL and wireless router
Published (2009-11-23 03:34:00)
I have a computer that is connected to the internet using an ADSL router. I also have a laptop that I'd like to use (wireless). I am using a Tenda D840R ADSL2+ router. I also have a Linksys Wireless G 2.4 GHz Broadband router WRT54G. Can I somehow hook up these devices so that I can use both computers, one hard wired and one wireless? Any help you can give will mean a lot to me, I am clueless, in Costa Rica, and need help in English....

Hi Julznova and welcome to CTH,
It sounds like you may be experiencing a DOS attack (see here ). Do you have a static IP from your ISP or a static one? If you have a dynamic IP, you may want to try leaving the router off over night to see if you get a new IP from your ISP.

Found the issue was tied to the protocol.ini file which was missing some info...
Now when the batch file executes netbind.com..
it errors out with "Error: 33 Unable to bind"
Almost there

you can do some online gaminig but it will not be fast, there could be lag time and finally you could easily exceed your monthly data usage limits.

My OS is Windows XP Home with SP3. I have installed the free SMTP/POP3/ IMAP software called hMailServer on my computer. I have set it to use only SMTP and POP3 and disabled IMAP to save harddrive space (no storing
messages on the server).
Problem is I want to configure it to work my LAN (my local IP is 192.168.0.196) AND on the Internet (external IP is 76.104.145.19, and if you put http://...

Hello. So my internet is slow when its connected through my router. Its normal when I directly connect my PC to my modem. I should be getting 20Mbs and im currently getting less than 1Mbs. It worked fine up until 2 days ago. Oddly just my download speeds are affected, I'm still getting my 2Mbs up through the router.
Any ideas? I did mess with my settings recently... but all i did was change ...
