Hi again Greyhorne, Yes, a long time between issues. Not sure if it is due in part to my rudeness in the past, but hopefully I have mellowed with time. And of course you being on top of things there adding to the lack of malware issues. Only a MyWebSearch remnant showing in this one view, but a very questionable setup.exe startup is there. Let's get a more detailed look at things and check further. To keep them from interfering with the...

Hello yummytyson,
Does sound like malware activities. Let's take a look.
To keep them from interfering with the repairs, be sure to temporarily disable all antivirus/anti-spyware softwares while these steps are being completed. This can usually be done through right clicking the software's Taskbar icons, or accessing each software through Start - Programs.

Welcome to CTH patrick7,
Malware very often now does measures to disable the SFC, but these usually do not lead to a BSOD (SFC, BSOD - goodness). By chance were Sophos and that SystemSuite (Winferno related, so not really very well recommended) installed before this problem occurred? Did you copy down the exact error message on the blue screen?
