Yes windows replaced the atapi.sys file. Another note, once i moved the file to my desktop, avast popped up saying that the atapi.sys file is a Win32:Alureon-EM [Rtk] rootkit. Should I remove it with avast?

Welcome to CTH patrick7, Malware very often now does measures to disable the SFC, but these usually do not lead to a BSOD (SFC, BSOD - goodness). By chance were Sophos and that SystemSuite (Winferno related, so not really very well recommended) installed before this problem occurred? Did you copy down the exact error message on the blue screen?

I have a strange thing going on with my computer.
