The same part number applied to all such models during these years (both California LEV models and others). Later, when the dual cat system was introduced, there were different cats for California (versus all other regions).

Pulls air thru the rad, onto the engine. The same way air flows thru the rad when driving.

You rarely hear of the 5vz-fe burning oil. I got 160K before I sold mine, never used a drop of oil in its lifetime. With proper maintenance it shouldn't be burning or using any oil.
