See, now that is why I am glad I do a double degree. I could barely manage to pick ONE elective this semester... and I am struggling to pick enough to finish. There's just nothing there that I really want to do.... Slim pickings. They all sound boring as h8ll.

Crim Law sounds interesting but I am really bad at law subjects! I just can't get my head around the whole "well, this is the answer, but if you factor in this it can go this way, or if you factor in that it can go that way.." argh Yeah still want to do PR, but as always I'm just unsure.. ah wells, I have another week or so to stew over it!

I feel like coming on here to defend myself but after thinking about it and wondering why it hit such a nerve in me is maybe because she's right. I think she's a cow for saying so, but after reflecting on it, I think it's a wake up call for me. Yes I'm disappointed that I didn't get the position and that she was so insensitive with her feedback, but it's got me thinking which isn't a bad thing. Still how does...

I am in a similar situation to you in terms of career progression - getting admitted as a solicitor in February (congrats to us!).
I have worked in a mid-tier law firm for 1.5 years now and my experience has been that the second you arrive, you have to hit the ground running - early mornings, late nights, stresses, new skills, high ...

I have fast tracked my masters. No it wasn't particularly difficult, although having deadlines for six or seven major assignments fall at once was a nuisance while I was working full time as well. More of an inconvenience than difficult. You need to be a much better planner than I am if you are not to find that a big nuisance.
You need to check with the university to see if they will allow ...

A lack of life experience is generally a way of saying they don't think you're mature enough for the role.
Yes, you can gauge maturity very quickly when you speak to someone (ie. your reaction to the feedback is a lil telling, though understandable because its disappointing to miss out). It may be the role itself requires a certain kind of person, or that the company culture is made up of...

It's happened to me, after my first interview I was told they'd filled my position but they thought I'd be well suited to another area and would I like to proceed? I thought, why not, ended up getting the job, but in the end I thought really hard about it because I was accepting for the sake of them having given it to me, and I really was set on the job I'd actually applied for, which I accepted ...
