It's been very quiet this weekend, as far as the computer was concerned. We were without an ISP for 4 days as they were having major hassles. Speaking of computers, our household are going to be getting 2 new ones next year. Well, not NEW new ones, but new to us. John found an article saying that those who are on a Centrelink (our version of Social Security) payment or concession, they are eligible to get a computer for a cheaper cost...

That dog is so cute! He is fluffy and long with these short little legs and for some reason he has no tail. It's kind of weird that he has no tail to wag. How are we going to know when he is happy? My daughter is in love and today when I commented that my baby was asleep, she said my baby is too. He took to the kids well even the baby who kept trying to hug him. It was so cute to watch J interact with him. He made the cutest expressions!...

I've been on a real roller-coaster since I was last here, and it's not a ride that I like. It feels like a heavy blank of inertia is hanging on me and it takes too much energy to move, to think, to breathe. I don't know that I can even write about it. I want time to stop because I can't see anything worthwhile in the future. Met with my spiritual director today. Lord, thank you for bringing her into my life. I've...

Does it ever get old? Once again, I spent time in a womens prison. I was up at a dark and cold 4 a.m. in order to be ready for the bus ride to the unit. Most of the other women chattered excitedly as the bus jostled down the road. I slept. Oh LORD, I prayed, please make this experience fresh to me again. This was my 17th event as I volunteered for Bill Glass Champions for Life. Many of the women on the bus were freshmen first...

In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. 23 Then turning to the disciples he said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see,...

I met with my psychiatrist last month and we decided that it would be benificial to me to start taking a medication again. The medication that I have been prescribed is helpful in both bipolar and borderline personality disorder. I decided last week to order myself a ceramic heater. To my suprise, 2 parcels arrived for me from where I'd ordered it. I opened the first one and it was the heater. I opened the second one and it was a quilt. I...

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. :8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; :9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. This scripture comes to mind occasionally. I don't know why ... Maybe because peoplesometimes complete strangersseem to have the inclination to tell me their...

Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the Word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. --2 Corinthians 4:1-2 Good Grief! I did it again! I was reading the parable of the lost coin the other day (Luke 15:8) and my thoughts wandered … what is the greatest loss one can experience in this world? Is it the loss of a worthless trinket with great emotional value to the owner; or an expensive item of jewelry or such like; or great sums of money? Is it the loss of a loved one? Or what? I concluded that for a Christian the greatest ...

Praise the Lord!! I hope all is going well at the start of this new year. Indeed it is a blessing to be alive and well. I rung in the new year at church. We all had a good time celebrating the Lord. So many didn't make it into the new year. I was thinking about how some preachers on t.v. always come up with some type of prophecy for the new year. For example, they may say this is the ...

Yesterday my husband turned thirty years old. To celebrate, we went to the Children's Museum in Indianapolis. We hadn't been there since Jay was two, and the kids really enjoyed it. Erick and I enjoyed it, too, of course. We actually ended up buying a membership, because it was only $10 more to get the membership than to just pay for individual tickets, plus members get free carousel rides. Now ...

Unconditional love. Do you think it is possible for people to do this? I do. I've seen it mostly in parental love. How many times during the penalty phase of a trial has the mom or dad of a convicted murderer gotten up on the stand to plead for the life of their convicted child or for leniency in their sentence. I have told my kids all of their lives "no matter what you do, I'm ...

Trust me, man, trust me. Yeah, sure. Go look for another mark. Nowadays, when someone says, "Trust me", we are suspicious?rightfully so. We've learned from experience that someone we really can trust does not have to say, "Trust me". Okay, what about when Jesus says, Trust me ? John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.? ...

I saw my psychologist yesterday, after a very sleepless night. I'm glad that I got to my appointment because I really do hate cancelling, though I don't think my brain was fully there, and I wasn't feeling brilliant either. It was an interesting session and we talked about negative and positive feedback and how I reacted when I received it from people. It's not always entirely comfortable ...

One of those "lost" days for me. Weary from the ends of my hair to the tips of my toenails. Thank you, Lord, for the lovely oblivion of sleep. I'm so upset right now I can hardly think straight! Maybe writing about it will help to calm me down. My oldest grandson, Tony, has been living with a girl for a couple of years now. They have a 13 month old baby girl. She is a very sweet, very cute little girl, her name is Summer. My oldest daughter (the babies Grandma) just called and it seems the baby has been taken into foster care. I guess ...
