June 2/06 Thank you, Lord, for your promises, for your comfort, for this day; I really needed it today. Feeling rather blue, confused, stuck, etc. But Im sure (I reassure myself) that God will bring me into the light yet. From chapter 3 of Boundaries: People who have an overstrict, critical conscience will condemn themselves for things God himself doesnt condemn them for. When we give in to guilty feelings, we are complying with a harsh...

My brothers arrived from Queensland on Thursday afternoon and left yesterday afternoon. When we took them to their hotel, we stopped off and had a drink with them. They wanted to stay in town for the night as they'd both been up since 4am, and my state has a 2 hour time difference. When we left them, they were going to head off and grab something for dinner as it would have been a late time for dinner for them. Friday, John and I took...

Praise the Lord!!! Guys, I really need prayers. Once again my emotions are all over the place. I am praying that God will speak to me about my life and what direction I need to take. I am at a standstill. I don't know what do or what to think at this point. I know one thing for sure: my life is in God's hand. I don't want to move in my flesh and make even more of a mess in my life. I so desperately need to hear God.

When Jesus walked this earth wheelchairs had not been invented. The lame either stayed in their beds or laid on the floor in poverty. Youll remember the story of the lame man whose friends brought him down, bed and all, through the roof of a house to meet Jesus. When Jesus met the lame, He did not shout at them as if they were deaf, or ignored them and spoke to those accompanying them instead. Why is it then when we meet people in...

It's Sunday again, the time goes so fast! We had a great service this morning, an Eucharist out of the Book of Common Prayer, it doesn't get any better than that - at lest for me. I love the old prayer book and find such a rich anointing when we use it. I do grieve that I can't take part in serving yet but plan to go back to my ministry in Candle Lake the second Sunday in Dec. which will be the third Sunday in Advent. Advent is...

Well, I have officially unfriended a friend that my husband has been asking me for years to quit being friends with. Not 2 seconds later another friend caught me in chat. Someone who is also a friend of hers. I tried to explian why I did it but it never really made sense. Because my husband wanted me to sounds so lame. She couldn't understand that, I am sure my best friend who is no longer my best friend won't understand either. This...

Continual Praise Its been a while since Ive written. Im doing my best at getting back to the place where I knew the LORD the best… exercising at 4 am… Bible studying at 5am… wishing that there was more time with the LORD at 6 am. My husband, Dave, and I have been working hard at starting our new Celebrate Recovery group. To me it felt like I did a majority of the work. The hard part is out of the way. There were a...

Rejected? Downtrodden? Treated with no respect? Do some of Rodney Dangerfields No Respect jokes really apply to you? I try to remember: The same was true of a shepherd boy, David, of whom God said, A man after my own heart. The same was true of Jesus. Arent we glad that people are not our final judge? Arent we glad that God, who is the real judge, looks on the heart?..Not the outward appearance? 1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said...

Trust me, man, trust me. Yeah, sure. Go look for another mark. Nowadays, when someone says, "Trust me", we are suspicious?rightfully so. We've learned from experience that someone we really can trust does not have to say, "Trust me". Okay, what about when Jesus says, Trust me ? John 14:1 "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.? ...

I have been thinking about my life today, specifically the things I would like to change. I feel a sense of discontentment brewing on the inside of me. I know I am suppose to be content in all circumstances. The question for me is how to get back to that place. There are things I need to change about myself and if I don't I will not be content. Because I know God wants me to. He can't do it ...

A week from now, we will be in Easter weekend. What does that mean to you? Do you have any special traditions? Are you one that eats fish and seafood during the time of Lent? That's something that I haven't been able to do for a number of years as I have developed an allergy to fish and seafood. Is there something else that you've given up? It's a time to reflect on the sacrifice that ...

I'm so upset right now I can hardly think straight! Maybe writing about it will help to calm me down. My oldest grandson, Tony, has been living with a girl for a couple of years now. They have a 13 month old baby girl. She is a very sweet, very cute little girl, her name is Summer. My oldest daughter (the babies Grandma) just called and it seems the baby has been taken into foster care. I guess ...

One of those "lost" days for me. Weary from the ends of my hair to the tips of my toenails. Thank you, Lord, for the lovely oblivion of sleep. The following are the Beatitudes taken from Eugene Peterson's "The Message": Youre blessed when youre at the end of your rope. ...

I was reading the parable of the lost coin the other day (Luke 15:8) and my thoughts wandered … what is the greatest loss one can experience in this world? Is it the loss of a worthless trinket with great emotional value to the owner; or an expensive item of jewelry or such like; or great sums of money? Is it the loss of a loved one? Or what? I concluded that for a Christian the greatest ...

Praise the Lord!! I hope all is going well at the start of this new year. Indeed it is a blessing to be alive and well. I rung in the new year at church. We all had a good time celebrating the Lord. So many didn't make it into the new year. I was thinking about how some preachers on t.v. always come up with some type of prophecy for the new year. For example, they may say this is the ...
