QUOTE (AboveAverage @ Nov 15 2009, 09:39 PM) QUOTE (time2fix @ Nov 15 2009, 10:35 PM) QUOTE (hegemony @ Nov 15 2009, 09:00 PM) the 7 years is from 180 days plus 7 years from the first late/derog. does it show when it was first late? are you getting the dates from a hard copy mailed directly to you from the four major CRAs? Hardcopy mailed to me Im looking at shows same info that I saw online....

offer to pay cc's in full

It's possible it could happen, but I doubt it. If your current, your credit will more then likely not accept a settlement offer anything less then what the balance is owed. Now, if you were late, and near CO, that might be a different story.

I thought Lates went "away" after 3 years? We should recap the lesser-known ways FICO punishes GOOD Actions, as per FICO's model them being Bad. This is nice Theory.... but isnt the system set up for Profit? Also, there is that pesky Credit Card Act....

I have 2 accounts from my BK that STARTED reporting in July 2009. I dispute, they remove- we do this dance every month. I would have qualified for FHA financing in August had it not been for these. What's worse is that they...

Citi credit cards requesting info

If they are asking for all that stuff, his chances are probably pretty good. If you don't mind providing the info, go for it. If you don't feel comfortable providing the additional info, don't.

I've always thought 5 and over accounts reporting a balance (even though I PIF) leads to deduction from FICO as ridiculous. Also, Inqs from non lending institutions such as utilities, phone etc should only appears as softs...

QUOTE (GEORGE @ Nov 13 2009, 06:32 PM) I'm glad I don't have to put up with excessive payments on "TOY" accounts Someday, I'll be past all of these crap limits and brother, that day cant come fast enough. Then, later, after experiencing the dizzying heights of 5 figure CLs, I'll join you in ubiquitous ranting after I get hammered with huge, baseless CLDs. In a lot of ways GEORGE, you are...

Truecredit good choice?
Published (2009-11-15 08:27:00)
QUOTE (higher180 @ Nov 15 2009, 08:13 AM) I tried to go through the threads to see if I can find the information on truecredit. However, I couldn't seem to find it. I got a really good deal on truecredit(I think) for a 30 day free trial and 14.95 a month. Is it free daily pulls? Does it help with Eq bumpage? I used True Credit when I was working on my repairing my credit. It was convenient to check my score and reports...

not that anyone wants me to post, but you may be better off asking this question in the SL forum. IMHO there is no " good faith" from partial payments unless you have a written agreement stating as such.

What area of the country are you in? There are some good regional banks in the Northeast (where I am), but they do not lend out of the region. Big banks are treating small business owners like lice, so avoid them if you can. Local and regional banks/CUs are the best option. Ideally, if you can get in front of a loan officer/Underwriter you are in a much better position....

Do you have any assets you need protected? If it were me, I think I would file BK if it were possible. I would advise you speak to an attorney to see what your options are. There are a lot of people here who have recovered nicely after a BK, and probably more who have toughed it out for as long as possible, and THEN had to file. It's a decision you have to make but make sure you don't ...

QUOTE (vintagespeed @ Nov 16 2009, 02:30 PM) is there a strategy i'm missing here? Ya got me. I'm not closing my accounts that were CLD - in part because i worry it will lead to more CLD. If you signed all the paperwork you may be SOL. I would go up there now and ask for whatever manager is on duty and talk to them, the longer you wait (even if it until the next morning) the worse off you are going to be in trying to defend your actions! Hurry, go now!

FICO doesn't factor in income because that's not part of credit. It's the job of the lender to determine DTI and whether a debt load is acceptable. Maybe utilization on accounts with CL less than a certain amount should count less, but I don't think total debt should matter for FICO.
