ABORTION VERSION TWO
Published (2009-12-09 22:45:00)
QUOTE(fixtatik @ Dec 7 2009, 11:37 PM) I'd support it if it were consistent with other laws of similar statute, and with itself. so, shouldn't you support it & be in opposition to things which are inconsistent with it? why support the inconsistencies over abortion? you're not making a coherent argument. drawing from your own example: why should the patriot act be a reason to not support abortion?

ABORTION VERSION TWO
Published (2009-12-05 10:24:00)
QUOTE I was simply asking what do you believe are the differences. Go back to the law of biogenesis. A persons produces a PERSON. In between conception and birth, it is a person at conception and when the women goes to give labor, because a person can ONLY reproduce another person. It is a human at all stages of existence, because again, as the law of biogenesis states, humans produces humans. no you still are misapplying this law. of course...

QUOTE(NoSex @ Dec 6 2009, 01:33 AM) so you would support the the full actualization of the woman's right to her body & the full abolition on all bans on abortion? I'd support it if it were consistent with other laws of similar statute, and with itself. QUOTE 1. how do you punish an abortionist? 2. how do you prevent abortions? 3. if abortions will happen anyways, why cause all the trouble of criminalization?...

QUOTE(karmakiller @ Dec 2 2009, 08:34 PM) You must forgive me, Steven, I'm from the north. What other transplants are there besides organ and tissue transplants? State laws regulate organ donation, but it isn't up to the government to decide who does and who doesn't get transplants, so I don't know what the waiting time for getting a transplant has to do with universal healthcare. If it were an issue of...

State laws regulate organ donation, but it isn't up to the government to decide who does and who doesn't get transplants, so I don't know what the waiting time for getting a transplant has to do with universal healthcare. ABORTION VERSION TWO
Published (2009-12-05 00:30:00)
It seems like there are way to many "misconceptions" to be addressed. QUOTE to be honest i don't even get people who don't think there is an obvious difference. it's hard for me to comprehend that someone would think a toddler and a lump of cells are on the same playing field in any regard. to me personally the fact that one has been born and one hasn't is enough, but i'm just a cruel heartless...

QUOTE(NoSex @ Nov 30 2009, 08:35 PM) IT STILL OUTPERFORMS PRIVATE INDUSTRY! so, if we want good healthcare, tax people as much as we need in order to have it. i haven't ignored the fact that it costs money, i have continuously addressed that: tax people! you, on the other hand, completely ignore the fact that it works better than private insurance; people like it more than private insurance. what we need...

QUOTE(karmakiller @ Dec 2 2009, 06:17 PM) The government can't control the availability of donated organs/tissue (I'm assuming that's what you mean by transplant). Besides, a lot of that is done on a case by case basis. It could if we imported more Indians and committed more legalized hate crimes. Jesus Christ, Dee. Why didn't you think of that? We could kill mexicans and a-rabs and take their organs. No...

QUOTE(itanium @ Dec 4 2009, 08:43 PM) Are you saying retarded people can't think? Those in a vegetative state can't. If I was brain dead, I would want to be killed. So Peanups, not addressing this?

QUOTE(kryogenix @ Nov 16 2006, 1:58 AM) Gotta love euphemisms. Choice sounds much better than baby killing. Partial Birth abortion sounds so much better than cracking skulls and sucking brains out with a vacuum. Euphemisms work both ways, it seems. What with Conan the Gynecologist, and all that. There are fetal abnormalities that could suppose the death of the mother and/or the ...

I don't see why not. I think it's definitely possible to combine religious tenants in the self-governing of one's life. In regards to atheists, it's possible to not believe in God, but believe in the basic, non-religious morals and ethics a certain religion implies; i.e. atheists don't go around killing people just because they're atheist.
