I just put the 1999 323i up on the lift and sure enough, the early E46 cars have that tubular brace. It is indeed tubular and could possibly be stronger, but here's the rub: it only attaches with 4 bolts instead of the later version's 8 bolts. Hmm... I'm going to have to think on this one.

The 1 pint CSI tank looks more along the lines of what I need. EDIT: Pic

Well, I'm an engineer, but I haven't slept at a Holiday Inn for quite some time. My thoughts on these tube unions are as follows: 1. They're probably very strong in tension or compression along the tube/union axis, as long as these forces don't get translated into trying to spread apart the union's two pieces. If the latter happens, the strength is going to be limited to the fastener tensile failure rating. A dovetail...

Msquared. thanks for the input. The rear springs are 5" flat on both end stock car ones, linear 375# on the oe location on the lca. I have an assortment from 300# to 400# and the stiffer seems better over the bumps. Also less rebound is better. I agree the oe quadra bind doesnt help any but hey I'm on the mega budget. On another note the handling is pretty good otherwise, nuetral in the middle, good power off, only thing is I...

Cool, didn't know you had picked up another FFR... I think your previous car was repainted and resold? I built my Daytona planning on it being strictly an auto-x/track toy but that never really got anywhere. At this point, I'm thinking the same thing like you, make it 90% street and occasional auto-x. I'm going to spend the winter trying to get it ready to pass NJDMV and hopefully get ...

Both companies say that the min. wall thickness listed will make quality bends, so I wouldn't worry about that. One thing to keep in mind, is that at the tighter CLR's, the outside of the bend will be thinner ( more so than with a larger CLR). If the rules say you need to run .120" wall, you may have to start out with .134" just to be sure the outside of the bend is still within spec. I have ...

I can provide data on my Miata with 15x9s and 225/45/15 RA-1s, but no data with the same tires on a smaller wheel. Hasn't Emilio done back-to-back testing, or at least something semi-scientific? However, one very nice thing about the 15x9s is that you can also fit the 275/35/15 Hoosier on them.
