Stylized Deer Concepts - Page 2...
Published (2009-01-03 15:34:00)
@Elwell: *smacks forehead* I work at my school's library and totally forgot that we had a book on all his movement imagery! Gosh... so should have thought about using that - haha. Here's the badger so far, decided to go with this pose since I like the diagonal look, which kind of matches the point to the deer's tail and plus it seems as though she's startled to have a deer jump over her. However I think her back foot...

Stylized Deer Concepts

I think this style is perfect. It appeals to me, not because it's anatomically correct, or has nice rendering, but because it's just so damn pretty. Kids think like that. I'm sure the author, and kids all around will love the style. Also, I think the rabbit is the right type of white. Not white, but looks white agaist everything else because it's dark.

There some serious issues with her legs - that's a very uncomfortable pose. I take it she's resting on the back foot and the front leg is forward and bent - is that what you were trying to do? It is quite monochromatic, and warm (in tones), you might want to use cooler colours (blues, cold purples). Smaller picky comment to follow You've drawn the snow blowing from top left to bottom right (left handed eh?) but her hair and arm...

antomy and help

The head is falling out of perspective and you'll need to fix the attachment of it to the back and shoulders. The torso and waist are looking pretty good. I like how you're describing the perspective of the form with her clothing. You're doing this well with the arms too but yes, you need to fix them. The right arm looks almost backwards and the left is very stiff. Also try to give her hands/fingers a more graceful, elegant pose...

Poseidon WIP

Now I have redone the chest, bent his right arm more and made more of the neck visible. I am still working on the general anatomy, like the stomach and his left arm, obviously. I see the problem with the spine pose, and I'll see what I can do to make a better S shape. I am uncertain of how the muscles in the right underarm should be, but I'll look into it. Any help on this is very much appreciated!

This whole thing seems off to me.

Thanks DinoZord. I couldn't find a good reference to get the balance right so that really helped. Here it is after fixing the arm and some more shading. I'm trying to have the light on her almost from above, but I'm feeling that it's not coming through. A little help in that area would be cool. Anything else anyone can find would be appreciated too.

As you can see in my other thread, I've been working on a cover for a CD by WarTex, which will likely be named 'Beware the Ides of March'. Now that the painting is finished and scanned, I'm reworking the details with painter. Here is my progress so far.

Ok this is something I intend to try and finish within a specific amount of total worknig time, just to try an push myself into getting more confident with the digital medium, a thing which I lack very much to be honest, as well as to actually finish something digitally, a feat that I find hard in the particular medium. If it turns out good enough and I gain some confidence/experience with the ...

Hello, first sketch posted here.... First of possible series of works set in Middle-Earth. Graphite on copy paper. Sketch took approximately an hour to do. Final version will likely be digital, done in a mix of Painter and Photoshop.

Hi, everybody, This is my new work I'm doing!! Here is the sketch: The drawing's idea and joke are: "Beware of your imagination, it can kill you!". ;] So, I imagined this: a girl, reading a ocean tale book, before sleep, goes too far with her imagination and is carried to her own world of fantasy. In her case, a maelstrom in the ocean and, in the center of it, a sea ...

I've been working with this one quite a while, and it's starting to take shape. I want to improve it in any way I can, so I'm forever thankful for any critique you may have. It's still far from done, I have some edges and such I'm gonna do over again and such. This isn't so much a "concept" drawing, but it's a test for me to see how long it'll take before I run insane with all the ...

Okay, so this is officially my first posting on CA. I'm starting with some linework for a "plasmid turret" idea that I had. I was itching to start learning digital art, so I just forced myself to think of anything and start. I intend to digitally paint this, I'm thinking dark colours for the main material and neon greens for the plasmid tubes. Criticism is appreciated. Thanks! -Corey

Ok, for the kids book I've been hired to do there are a lot of pages that consist of deer. Tons of them... so I'll be uploading some painting studies and characters here for the next few weeks of so. Please, critique anything you see amiss, especially anatomy and lighting. The thread for the main character Michael can be seen here . Anyways, back on track, this is a red tailed deer I'...

Ive had this idea for many years now, and finally i feel ready to visualize it. This is my progress so far, and id like you to give me some pointers how to pring this to finish. Background still lacks any definement or whatsoever, im focusing on the figure at this time. Rip it apart! (and yes, it its a huge wrench! )

Thats a mighty big head. I actually like this quite a lot, it's got a real classical vibe to it and seems to have a lot of life and dynamism. The one drawback I'm seeing is that he looks just a tad too chunky, and I think most of that is in the legs. And the huge head, it makes his body seem stocky. (Can you tell I hate anime proportions?) The leg thing is really subtle though, I wouldn't go ...

Hi! I hope you guys will help me with this painting of mine along the way, as I know many here have developed further than I have, and others might see the flaws I can't see. For the moment, I am focusing mostly on the figure itself rather than the background / surroundings. I have had problems particularily with the arms and genitals, but all help is appreciated. In case it is hard...

Sketched this a few days ago, and since I haven't painted anything in a long time, I decided I needed to sit down and try to paint this. I'm gonna try to flesh out the body as I go, and maybe add another one (if you guys don't think this is strong enough a composition of it's own, etc). I intend to paint this guy very fleshy and squishy, like a flying amphibian, and have a fading twilight ...

Sorry about the scan. My scanner died so I have to use a camera phone. I know about the left shoulder. (it doesn't look right to me.) but I would be really grateful for any help.
