Bournemouth University is widely considered to have one of the best , if not the best, program in 3d animation in UK. Check them out.

SCAD versus FIT
Published (2009-11-27 11:50:00)
I went to FIT for Illustration and I can tell you right off the bat FIT is better than SCAD. I think I've read up on SCAD and I recall they mentioned that they are pretty easy to get into and easy on the grades, and you wont really need that if you want to get a job. FIT however sits in one of the hearts of the fashion world. On top of that you get lots of opportunity to go and volunteer for things like Fashion Week. The teachers have all...

ALSO: SVA is probably going to be the most accepting of your anime style, just cushion yourself by having the majority of your pieces observational. REALLY cushion yourself. Prove that you can do things other than anime. I don't think that anime will be received well at Pratt, unfortunately. I don't know much about the other schools though!

I guess ultimately it would depend on how these pieces of paper are going to help you in the long run. The certificate just proves you attended as does the BFA. Neither one of these documents shows your proficiency or skills- your portfolio will do that for you.
Now if in the long run, you plan on applying for a corporate job that looks highly at degrees (some do), then go for the BFA. The ...

Artschools typically look down on digital art;
try to keep it 50/50 or at least 30/70 if your digital work is really good - sheridan had a paper with portfolio submission guidelines and it mentioned a variety of observational drawings, make sure to include those too.

Hi there! I'm happy to see that there is finally a 2010 thread, too.
I'm aiming to transfer into Ringling's Illustration major as a Sophomore next year. Right now, I am attending a community college in California and taking classes that match up to RCAD's first year curriculum according to an admissions counselor (so it seems like). I want to squeeze in some extra Liberal Art courses and ...

Hmmm... I don't want to bash the Art Institutes here but from what I've seen here on the forums, depending on which ones you go to, it can be a crap shoot. And probably more on the "crap" side.
I would've probably done what you've proposed here in reverse. I would've asked questions about them first before being "pretty set on it". Asking after the fact seems kind of awkward. Are you ...

Gosh... this looks amazing. Next year is my senior year of college, so at this point it would be very difficult for me to afford this. However, I am wondering if you will accept transferred credits towards achieving a degree? Also, I don't know if you're able to say at this time, but do you know details on what kind of scholarships will be available?
If I can somehow manage to find the ...
