Maybe you should look at flying plane models (as opposed to static plane
models) which are often made of fabric or tissue paper stretched over a
structure and varnished, they need to be light and strong to fly. There are
also modern materials such as styrene sheets that come in transparent or
opaque and can be used to cover model plane wings. Or Easycote

WOW I am still trying to get the features of an 1" face at a level where people will recognize it as something remotely human - and you copy actual
