Because the best test is to run an OS on it, I would have it running for a while. If you have other machines to work on, have one that you just fixed running. Hopefully by the time you are ready to leave the second one on for a while, no error pops up.

Hi everyone, I have a DFI CM33-TL motherboard, and it won't post. The board hasn't been used in a while, but it was working at one point. When I turn it on, the fans run, but no video, no beeps, etc. I've tried powering it on without the ram, and sometimes it will beep continuously, but other times it won't. Sometimes it sounds like the hard drive will start spinning, and sometimes not. Everything has been pulled from the...

What kind of catalog are you looking in? Personally I would head over to HP's support site and go through the process like you are ordering a new mainboard through them and see what part numbers they are showing. Usually for the DV series they offer 2 differnt part number, one for a new board and one for a refurb. I mean you don't have to order from them but you will just be seeing what ...

Search it online on sites like CL or EBAY using the model number. You may be able to find a used one out there.

I tried to get specs for that MOBO at ASUS and only found driver downloads. I think you need to go to the HP site and look up that HP model to get specs on the MOBO, etc.
