Just get a 5870 for now, it's plenty of card for any game out there at the moment. And in 6 months or so, when the prices drop, buy a 2nd one

What case do you have. I'm really starting to believe your heat issue is because you have a budget cased with performsance parts. NEVER ideal setup. I'd currently run with no side, and you can turn the fan down, after 75-80% its not very efficient, you really just make more noise.

Re: New i7 Build... Looking for a little input. That's my problem. I live in Louisville, Kentucky. I've been looking for six month now and there are ZERO computer hardware stores. There are a ton of places that will build machines for you, do networking, etc... Crap like that. But no place that I could go to and just shop for parts. It's really starting to rack my nerves.

I would say, go for the HD4850. The performance of the two cards is pretty much identical and the 4850 tends to be a bit cheaper.

Looks fine. The power supply is perfect, though I think there are better cpu coolers, IM not really sure without a link. I would recommend getting one dvd burner and one Blue ray burner. Cpu should be bought OEM if you can find one. As for the harddrives, you can get like two small SSD's in RAID 0 then just one large normal storage drive.

They are all good power supplies and any of them would run your system. for 70 bucks the silverstone element is a great deal.

welcome. for the mobo, i dont think you should spend your money on the classified if youre not gonna do some extreme OCing with it. you say youre gonna do some mild OCing at best, and even if you go further than that, IMO you would be well suited just as good with a less expensive mobos that still offers great OCing potential. you could take a look at these other options. For that budget I would go AMD with AM3 socket since Intel socket 775 is "dieing".

Hello everyone ^_^ I am new to the forums and this is my 1st thread. I been lately out of the PC gaming area for a few years now, just playing my wii, ps3, and 360 but after many years I realized that consoles will always be inferior to computers. Not saying that they suck, I still like them but I cannot stand playing FPS games anymore on my consoles. I am looking forward to upcoming ...

I would go with the LG --it has a much faster response time at 2ms, and when gaming it's always best to have the fastest rate possible. it also has the highest contrast ratio(difference from darkest black to lightest white) so the extra 10bucks you have to pay is well worth it but in most other respects they are pretty much identical, hope i've helped

Hard Drive buyers remorse? I built my dream machine and everything is very fast. (Still waiting for the correct retention clips for my CM V8 CPU cooler). Windows 7 scores everything on my machine a 7.4 except the hard drive which comes in at a 5.9. I'm no expert but it seems like it should be a bit higher in the 9k range maybe? I could be wrong. I got 12591 with an OC'ed GTX so I would think with a stock GTS you could get 9k.
