What you are referring to as ''shadows'' is actually ''
shaders''. The shader clock.
Are you just gaming with this card? Do you fold or anything?
I really don't think you will see any difference in either card in just games. For folding, I would go with the gtx260.

yeah thats fine, i think the 32amp is recommended in a
hi end rig for the 4870. So 36amp is fine.
As long as you dont plan on crossfire'ing two of them

The memory on the video card has nothing to do with the memory the motherboard uses.

One of the main reasons I'd buy this card for is to play
GTA 4, which ,as u can see up there, is screwy with this card.

Why not just save the $60 and just wait for you 4850? RMA's usually only take a couple of weeks, seems like an unwise investment to me, by the time you find a card and it ships, your new 4850 could be on its way already.
Unless I'm missing
something here, and you know its going to be sometime before you get it back

I got 55+ fps on the lowest settings with a prebuilt Gateway DX4200-09 and a
sparkle 1gb gts250. On high I got slightly over 20. Now that I built this new rig in my sig its 10-15 fps higher on High with the same graphics card. Not sure what it will do on the low settings.
Im not sure whats up with your setup but what your saying seems fishy to me.

You cannot combine 2 cards from different companies, although you could choose to use the gtx280 instead of the ati 5970.
Or if you really wanted you could send me one of them...because damn dude you got some serious pc equipment ha

I would get a 5850 over a 5870. 5850 can meet the 5870 when oc'd
Why pay the extra $100-140?
