Duo Vs Quad cores
Published (2009-11-29 10:02:00)
A Core 2 Duo prcoessor has 2 cores. (basically 2 processors) A Core 2 Quad has 4 cores (basically 4 processors) Clock speeds are not multiplied by the number of cores either, that is a misconception. As of yet there are few games that require a quad core for good framerates, however professional applications will perform better with quad cores and lots of RAM. A dual core is preferable for everday computer use like internet browsing and...

From what is written in Bamgag's signature I do believe he is presently using a laptop with the 1.3 gighertz Intel Pentium SU 2700 single-core processor. If you want to upgrade your laptop processor you most likely will not be able to.

All depends on the speed the cpu is running at, and if the programs you are using are mutli-threaded, the only mutli-threaded program i use is video/audio transcoding, and gaming of course , but most of the programs i use aren't written to use full advantage of a quad or tri for that matter. So i would suggest you get either a higher clocked quad, or high clocked dual.

I believe every processor goes to 100% when a program is being opened. Nothing to worry about. Go to Control Panel and System, it should say which SP you have.

Also, Just noticed, it also requires the " Access Time", and "Cost per megabyte", although i am liking to leave the cost per megabyte, as it seems like a ridiculous question to ask!

both are fairly old, however the pentium d is simply a dual core pentium 4. so the athlon is better here.
what are the clockspeeds of both?

What? You can easily remove it wouthout removing it from your motherboard. The only part attached to the motherboard is the backplate(which is held in place by a foam sort of tape).
However, personally i wouldnt really recommend the V8 even with it on sale, its not that great of a cooler once you throw noctua's,the megahalems, the TRUE,and IFX-14, and similar into the mix

Will overclocking give me any noticable increase in performance?
Ok i just bought a new pc - i7 960 (3.20ghz), GTX 285 SLI, 6GB DDR3 RAM. I can max every game out aside from maybe 3-5 with my old duo core, 8800gtx, so i thought this new comp would just destroy everything. I see so many overclockers now that i don't no if i should do...

To start overclocking you need to have a means to monitor CPU temperature. If you're using a stock CPU cooler and OC too much you risk overheating and possibly damaging the processor. Basics are a temp monitoring program like Real Temp or Core Temp and a program to load the processor like Prime95, (all free). Loading the processor helps to determine if the OC is stable and also ...

Overclocking 8750 b.e.
Hey guys well i invested in a 8750 be and compared to my old 5200+ pretty good improvemnt, my transcoding has improve 30% or so, and im very happy, the only thing im not happy with is the fact that it isn't as easy to overclock as i thought it would be.
