Every time my Husband has a bowel movement it sinks like a stone and is unflushable! Is this indicative of a digestive problem?

My brother passed in July with Stage 4 and Heptic C. He lived for almost a year before it really started to hit him hard. When it did, he only survived a couple of months longer. I wish you and your family the very best. I know that watching my brother go through that was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.

in my experiance, (i had a sigmoidcolectomy last year due to diver infection and a resulting cist) the problem with seeds, nuts and pips is that they are substances the body does'nt break down, therefore they can become lodged into areas affected by diverticolitis and cause infection. i was unaware of the disease until i went into toxic shock at work and was rushed in for emergency surgery, i have avoided seeds and nuts and the like the...

i think i have IBS (havent officially been diagnosed yet). I am on the toilet with diarrhea up to 15/20 times a day. because it seems to be triggered by even the action of eating (not only what i am eating) i think i have been a bit too scared to drink/eat very often. For the last couple of days my bones have really been aching to the point where i feel like i have done a massive work out at the gym. even my fingers hurt. Do u think i am...

I just had a colonoscopy done last month, easiest one ever.  I am 71 and was dreading the prep, but my Dr. had me take 3 Ducolax pills at 3:00 the day before, then 2 hours later, I was to start drinking a prescription strength order of Miralax mixed with 64 ounces of Gaterade, no red or blue.  I was to continue drinking 8 ounces every 15 to 20 minutes untill it was gone.  I slowed down a bit the last hour,...

When stools become pretty hard and difficult to pass, or the frequency of bowel movements reduces drastically, you know you are facing this extremely common problem called constipation. There are many natural laxative and holistic treatments that can help treat symptoms of constipation and promote easier digestion,  without the side effects commonly associated with OTC or prescription drugs. One such herbal product is "...

I haven't but my brother and a close friend both have. My brother went to the doctor, complaining of shortness of breath and a sore throat. After trials with asthma and allergy medication didn't improve the symptoms, he was sent to a gastroenterologist who diagnosed GERD after an endoscopy showed damage from the acid from the stomach up to his palate. He was put on Prevacid and now has no ...

I found that dietary changes help in treating constipation , such as eating foods higher in fiber, drinking more water, and/or taking fiber supplements such as Metamucil .

I am no expert on what to do about getting a colonoscopy, but I have seen an amazing video about colonoscopies. The video was in the video section of the website: http://www.zapyourtap.com It showed the results of drinking water made by a machine that you can put by your sink. There are a lot of great articles and documentaries about the technology on this site. I hope that this information...

I found this article for you: Diverticulitis diet: Should I avoid nuts and seeds? . The article states: "eating a high-fiber diet - which may include nuts and seeds - reduces the risk of diverticulitis. However, if you have diverticulitis and you believe that nuts and seeds trigger your attacks, avoid them. Just make sure you get enough fiber from other dietary sources."
