Hi I am a new mom and breastfeeding my 5 months old baby. I am facing a terrible problem which I never had to in my entire life. I do have a BM once everyday but it is hard stool (apologies for being blunt) no matter what I do it stays this way. I have tried high fiber diet (still following it), exercise, increased water intake but nothing seems to work, I always have constipated stool (even though I go once everyday) and end up with a tear. I...

My name is Tiffany, I have Ulcerative Pancolitis that my doc believes may also be Crohns in my Large Intestine due to the biopsy coming back as "Indeterminate Colitis", and I believe we know more about this condition than the doctors treating us at times, so when looking for advice, I "urge" you take it from people who live with the disease and have taken the time to educate their self and begin the healing process. I have...

I have suffered from reflux problems for some 35 years & for some years had this very problem, it was like an explosion from the solar plexus region just as I was falling asleep. I just learned to live with it and just got used to it. I have a feeling it is the tension of the day being released from your body as you go into the total relaxation of sleep. I just ignore it now, after it has happened I just fall asleep normally....

I am just about to start on both of those, but I can tell you after a colonoscopy it take a long to time to go and then when you even do go, it is not regular for quite some time. It may not be a side effect of the meds. Can you tell me though, did your MD prescribe you to take one of those meds in the morning & night instead of what it said to do on the meds? I can't seem to remember what ...

I"m having this problem too - very disconcerting! Seems to be mostly if I sleep on my left side. I'm getting close to nervous about falling asleep. Any answer?

I found that dietary changes help in treating constipation , such as eating foods higher in fiber, drinking more water, and/or taking fiber supplements such as Metamucil .

I haven't but my brother and a close friend both have. My brother went to the doctor, complaining of shortness of breath and a sore throat. After trials with asthma and allergy medication didn't improve the symptoms, he was sent to a gastroenterologist who diagnosed GERD after an endoscopy showed damage from the acid from the stomach up to his palate. He was put on Prevacid and now has no ...

I am not sure about foods that will help in the healing process, but I do know that two of my three young daughters have colitis that is either completely caused by or triggered by soy. They are also allergic to milk and eggs so those foods are not in their diet either. The younger daughter, who is just a baby, had blood in her diaper the day after we gave her soy formula. We discontinued soy...
