Seriously, if the headlight wiring was somehow
going straight to earth, wouldn't that blow a fuse? Changing the melted connector sounds like a good idea.

ER5 Fork Cap Removal
Hi All,
Any suggestions on how to remove the fork plug from an ER5 fork that appears to be corroded and will not come out.
I managed to depress the plug enough to remove the retaining ring/clip, but the plug will not now shift.
