Your current avatar reminds me of just how disappointed I am today. All that face time for Ozzie in the series, and not one F-bomb laden tirade. I feel cheated somehow........ How does he say it, "da fooking Yunkees"?

The Definitive Payroll Argument
Published (2009-11-06 16:45:00)
Finally, in the NFL and NBA, not all of the best players are in big markets. Those sports are successful while having great teams in many markets that MLB is currently failing in or would fail in. Thats all fair PH.........But you have to agree, in the NBA, there are 5 or 6 teams each season that have a TRUE shot at winning it all...Most teams are just playing out the string from day one.... In baseball, you entered the season...

It's media income that's the biggest difference. Heck, i was in China earlier this year and guess what station came in loud and clear .... you guessed it, YES network! Oddly enough, i didn't see the Pirate's network on .... imagine that! Why would that be? OHHHHH..because the Yankees had Godzilla. Why would the Yankees have Godzilla??? Because they gave hiom a ton of cash. You think that investment paid off?...

In fact, if you take the wonderful developed, coached Yankee talent of CC, AJ, Tex, A-rod, Damon and Matsui, what do you have? Other than $1 billion saved, ya got nothin Bitter Cardinals fan chiming in bump... I seen teams with less payrolls win world series so your point means,, Nothing... Enjoy the offseason.

I've heard the teams interested are the Red Sox , Yankees , Orioles , Tigers , and Cardinals . There doesn't plan to be much interest from around the league because he will probably get a contract worth at least 4 years around 32 million, if not more. That is a pretty steep risk for lower market teams to pay, especially considering the fact that he hasn't ...

Game notes via LoHud:
STATE OF THE STRIPES: The Yankees are two wins away from their 27th World Series title after a 8-5 victory in Game 3. The last time they were this close to a championship was in 2003, when they led the Marlins in the World Series but lost three games in a row to lose the series in six.
