Asustek Computer plans to launch a 17.3-inch 3D notebook (G72GX) in the first quarter of 2010 that features the Intel Core i7 CPU, Nvidia GeForce GTM 160M GPU, 4GB of memory and two 320GB hard drives.

While Asustek Computer reported on on-month increase in revenues in October, other first-tier motherboard makers Micro-Star International (MSI), Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) and Gigabyte Technology all saw their revenues drop on month in October.

Foxconn Electronics ( Hon Hai Precision Industry) has reported
unconsolidated revenues of NT$162.13 billion (US$4.99 billion) for October
2009, up 8.49% on month and the second highest monthly figure on record,
only lower than the NT$169.38 billion from the same month a year ago. The
company's January-October unconsolidated revenues of NT$1.14 trillion

With PC OEMs pushing the migration to DDR3, the next mainstream memory chip will soon be traded above the ASP for DDR2 chips in both spot and contract markets, according to sources at DRAM producers and module houses. Contract prices for mainstream 2GB modules soared more than expected during the first half of November amid strong demand in the PC market, the sources said.
