[QUOTE=except that not everyone has read what you've read so the second time around might well be their first time around...and for that matter, the second time around might be executed better. Morrison and Whedon revisited plenty of territory from the Claremont era but they put their own spin and interpretation on the events and themes. from a character standpoint, they might not be in the same place in their life and relationships that...

Well any given plot can be expressed. The same story that advocates child abuse, from a different angle, condemns it. Everything that happened in one story, happens in the other, but the difference is in the execution. What we consider acceptable in society will make the advocation of child abuse in a story very difficult to sell, and will likely inspire nothing but scorn. Using the exact same story to show just how evil and horrible the...

Nick, well, I suppose I could take comfort in the idea that the writer of the kind of material that worries me would probably be sent to jail for child porn or intent to cause a breach of the peace/hate crimes. Jordan, I admit that I am less bothered by manga because I know that Japanese culture is not identical to ours and what they take from manga isn't necessarily what we take from it. I think San Francisco is a stupid choice not...

UNCANNY X-MEN #504 REVIEW

UNCANNY X-MEN #504 REVIEW
Published (2008-11-24 23:49:09)
The entire X-men line is in total mess. This all reminds me at Casey at his worst, desperately trying to be hip, yet a total snooze fest. If there was a way to mess up "Xmen in San Fran" these guys are managing to pull it off. Have no idea what is the point of "Ms Sinister" over at Legacy and dont understand why they can have a female sinister but havent addressed the fact that Daken looks like an 80s reject. Ashtonishing...

YOUNG X-MEN #8 REVIEW

But it's not the same dynamic or potential since they both appear randomly and aren't centrally tied to a particular book like Anole...

Really? A Ghost Box mini-series? A parallel story line happening while the main story has yet to finish? A little odd that. Hopefully the main story won't start referencing the mini.
