And while I'm here, allow me the chance to share one of the greatest snippets from a song from one of the greatest cartoons ever made: YouTube - Home Movies- Crazy Legs Ballad I wish they would have made it into a full song. The sole comment which was left for the video sums up my thoughts precisely: "i wish this song would play in the background of every social interaction"

Yeah most phone pictures suck, no matter how good your phone is. You have to get a place with great lighting. No news from Sandy Davenport, so she'll get back to me Monday I guess...I did ask her if there were any available singles anywhere, as well as mentioning Emine's suite, so hopefully one of the two? See the thing is, *I* don't mind a double, but my mom hated the idea of me getting stuck with some random guy who either has...

I don't think it really matters, as many of those courses will transfer (and might even fulfill SFS curricular requirements). As I'm not entirely familiar with SFS admissions, there's absolutely no harm in calling the admissions office and asking them this question or checking out the website.

I posted very detailed information and photos on the facebook group page of my apartment for anyone that may be interested. Water, I've got 3 people that are solidly interested, but as of now all have situations preventing them from immediately being able to sublet from me, but I would say within the next 1 1/2 weeks everything should be resolved. I certainly prefer to have this taken care of before I leave on the 17th (possibly even the...

if you can keep your gpa up and write solid essays, you would have a chance. i suggest trying to transfer for junior year so that your high school grades don't matter as much, or if you want to apply for 2nd semester of sophomore year, take summer classes to speed up earning credits. i believe nyu doesn't weigh your HS heavily once you have 60 credits, so if you can get that far and still ...

No, an AP will not mitigate grades you get in college. The best thing to do is not necessarily summer school, but trucking along as a regular full-time student and getting mostly A's.

well no one can be offended or hurt your application. it's your choice what you want to do. remember, these people are professionals working at a college. just print out the forms, give them stamped/addressed envelopes, and tell them when they're due (i suggest putting a post-it on each envelope as a reminder). as for LORs, go to your prof's office hours and tell them that you enjoyed their class...

i get really excited when i see this thread up on the first page again.
my progress since last time has been as follows: i attended a welcome event for a different cornell college than the one to which i am applying and got the promise of their dean of admissions to put in a "good word" for me with my college, i had another appointment with my college to see if my improvements will be ...

It depends on how strong your college record is. If you already are a strong college student, then why bother taking a test to prove that you will be a strong college student?

All colleges state their tuition and R&B costs on their websites. Colleges vary as far as their FA policy towards transfers, that too is often discussed on their website.
As far as how much FA you will receive and what form it will take (loans, WS & grants), that depends on your personal financial situation and the FA policies of the individual schools.

woot, a fellow CCer from ND I go to UND myself.
I would say give it a shot but I think its more likely you won't get accepted (try away). Raise your grades a bit, join some extracurricular and try again sophmore year and you'll make it for sure.

I called admissions on Monday. They said they haven't even gone to committee yet! I was told, however, that they would start sending decisions out after the 15th.

I applied to Gallatin for Spring 2010. When I called last week they told me that I would most likely be notified in late November or early December. I was hoping more for mid November! Doesn't the site say Nov 15?

I am currently a Senior in High School, and hope to transfer into Georgetown after 1 year in a local public 4 year college (CUNY). My HS grades are messed up, I have like a 2.5 for 9th and 10th grade, but 3.8 for 11th, and 4.0 for 12th (Health issues). I hope to get a 4.0 in my first year of college. SAT 1250 out of 1600 (I will take it again) Great ECs (related to politics), and ...

While I doubt they'll do it, this comes under the heading of " it won't hurt you to ask, the worst they can do is say no".

i suggest waiting another year, because even though you went to a good prep school, your HS gpa is still really low.

I came from a public to a private ( CUNY to NYU) and I definitely felt the crunch during my first semester. I went from barely studying at CUNY and pulling around a 3.5 to actually having to crack a book during the week. My first semester GPA was mixed.
