I already finished the PR books, like the SAT Reasoning and the subject tests. Those books did not give me nightmares, those were good books... but Barron's... (I still haven't opened it for the second time, maybe this weekend...)

A-Levels for MIT?

If you don't have them available, there's nothing you can do about it. I think you are being very proactive taking the SAT subject tests in all three subjects to prove that you can excel in sciences when you get the chance. Don't forget that MIT also requires a math SAT II.

princeton (and all the admission issues are pretty similar with all the ivies) tells you to complete all tests by december test date, if possible. but everyone else i asked (some students, who help me with my app, from greece) told me to not worry (i am taking the sat in jan) and that the scores will be accepted. same goes for toefl, probably even more since your toefl score is not that important (especially when scoring high on the sat in cr...

Note also that taking all those SAT Subject Tests won't really help much, because although MIT will see them on your score report, on their application itself they just want to see the result of your Maths subject test, and the highest of your science subject tests. They really do not care much about scores once you get to a certain point, so do not worry too much about A levels and all those subject tests.

If you are a permanent resident, and you are currently enrolled in a US high school, this is a good question to take to your guidance counselor. They are in a better position to know what students in your situation have done in the college application process, and when the kind of essay you describe has been productive.

@portugueseninja,
Aren't u an International student?? Are u currently in the US? If not, its wonderful to hear that u will be going to the US just to visit the colleges. I wish I could do the same!
And yes I'm done with all my applications for The Class of 2013.

They probably will, but my opinion does not matter. Ask Northwestern if you are not sure.

Ciao !
Have you already sat for the "Maturità" ? In case you didn't, I suggest you not to convert your marks, instead explain the universities you're applying to that the Italian scholastic system uses a decile rank (and of course let them know your average mark).

That's odd. Collegeboard's website says that the international registration deadline for the Jan 23 test date is Dec 15. Only the early registration deadline has passed. Scroll down to the very bottom: SAT Dates - SAT Test Dates and Registration Deadlines
Here's what I would do: first, try to start a completely new application from scratch. Maybe the system put you in for the early ...

I would suggest you to translate all your teachers' evalations and make them sign, without letting words in your native language and without telling universities you translated them.

As many hours per week as you can manage for as many weeks as you have before the exam? It's kind of hard to mimic the result of 18 years of full-time language immersion with a bit of shot-term preparation.
That being said, if you have a hard time with the SAT, consider taking the ACT instead. I found their language sections to be a lot easier on non-native speakers than the SAT's. I got a 34/...

These scores are good considering the colleges you are applying for. Btw, if I were you, I would consider to study medicine outside the US. Very few intl students are accepted by med schools.
