Nov sat scores for ED?
Published (2009-11-30 20:23:00)
Rush doesn't matter for internet scoring, which cornell does. It's more a matter of when CB sends them (between 1-10 days, from my experience + my friends') I think it's a bit late to send them anyway, decisions seem to pretty much be done =/

How can you afford Cornell?
Published (2009-11-30 21:19:00)
it's more than just income. it also includes assets and investments. are any of those 5 ppl also in college? that could help quite a bit.

My Major?

Biological Engineering has a concentration inside of it of Biomedical Engineering. The curriculum is also extremely flexible, allowing you to pretty much only take organism and bme courses and avoid the environmental engineering, hydrology, water systems, etc course save a few requirements.

Actually, I think you can submit it electronically now (according to FA's website). You just scan it and submit it as a file.

In order to double major, you have to apply against the freshman pool and be accepted again as that major. It's a huge hassle.

Sorry chendrix I am applying to CAS. And bioblade if you build computers too that's cool, but dont go around saying that its unimportant. Being able to put together a computer from scratch and get it running is not an easy task and not everyone can do it, in my opinion it is worth mentioning. What things are important to mention in "your application"? (just interested)

Cornell is pretty generous with grant aid I believe. They do cap loans at $3000 if your family makes $75,000 or less if I'm not mistaken.

I just called and got told "mid-December" and when I asked "Have you released anything more specific?", I got a "No, sorry". All the signs point to the 10th, but....
You think they'd just tell us, right?

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention that I build and rebuild computers... I help with the IT dept. at my school and I also hold a referral business for building custom computers in my community. I mostly do it for friends' families. So far I constructed 17 computers from parts

I am trying to get both of my essays corrected by my teachers. Once that's done, I will send it in. At the moment, it's not looking so good. I still feel my essays are awful. Good luck to everyone and wish me luck!

The financial aid stuff should've been in before November 1.

Hi
I'm an Asian American applying ED for CoE from Germany
Does applying for financial aid hurt your chances of getting in?
I heard that it does indeed have an impact if your an international applicant
but for domestic applicants??? Does it make a difference??
Thanks in advance

If you are wealthy enough to attend Cornell without financial aid, you are unlikely to qualify for FA elsewhere. You expect 30k FA from LACs? Not happening.

All of them care about fit. Arts and Sciences maybe less so than the others, but the rest are all about fit.
You seem to be ranking on ' uniqueness' rather than fit.

Yea, the CAS essay is definitely only about the academic programs. How about yor common app essay? You can segue into the "why cornell" part and somehow tie it to one of the prompts.
