DCHurricane, there is moderation for everything. There are safe doses of any drug, even if the "safe" dose is well below the typical recreational dose (which is not really the case anyway; you are just misinformed). Also, calling cannabis a "hard" drug is laughable. Sorry, I just don't like to see misinformation go uncorrected.

Body groomers are great for the area between your manhood and your belly button. Have you ever used a standard razor there? It itches like HELL after.

I like netflix because people come over to watch movies with me and it's kind of hard to all crowd around a laptop, it's a very simple social outlet, but I guess not everybody appreciates that. Somebody mentioned a portable harddrive in the thread in the parents forum, that's a good idea. My dad ended up having to buy me one right after I moved anyway because we had to reformat my harddrive and I had to back it up first. Makes...

If you can, by all means, go ahead. The myth that someone who graduates in 3 years is necessarily always at a disadvantage is nonsense. You can get close to your professors graduating in 3 years if you tried. If you can, I'd say go for it. To say that someone who graduates in 4 years necessarily has more advanced courses on their transcript is also nonsense. I'm graduating early and I have just as many as the four year graduates. 4...

Quote: There is a stark difference between PhD and professional graduate programs. AFAIK, anyone with a decent GPA and good LSAT will be competitive in law school admissions. Similarly, for med school, you just need to have a good GPA and do the required courses. PhD programs are different, in that advanced coursework, good research, and recs matter A LOT, whereas in professional programs, admissions are less holistic. Hmm i think law school...

Defying Your Advisor: Bad Idea?
Published (2009-11-23 23:36:00)
It's up to you. I am at 18 credits right now and have much more work as a humanities kid than any of my pre-med friends do who have double labs, etc. However, that being said, it very much depends on your school. If you're taking Orgo or something I would NOT recommend more than one lab. Also, can't you drop one of the slacker classes so that you can take the 5th class?

"The Full College Experience" -- Overrated? Rediculous?
Alright. We all know that everyone has different experiences and opinions in college, as we can see by the many posts on this forum. How do you all feel about this:
What is "the great college experience"? What do we go to college for?
In my opinion, 90% of the college experience is ********.

typically, it's as difficult as you make it. BE gregarious, BE sociable, and BE extraverted if you want to meet some people, get the most out of college, and get out of your comfort zone.
But if you want to be a recluse just be reclusive. easy as pie.

Talking about race is very challenging, particularly for white women who have spent most of their lives in privilege, which is probably a majority of the white women at mt holyoke. they are bound to encounter all kinds of difficult discussions of race in their college careers, and a lot of them probably don't have any background with such critical discussions, which can be really overwhelming ...

See if you can get a lawyer. Perhaps you can get one through legal aid or a local law school.
Also talk to the administrator who is in charge of ADA on campus.
You also may wish to contact your local or regional National Alliance on Mental Illness to see if they can help you.
I hope that you are able to work things out.

if you're mainly looking at self actualization and not what you can learn in the business world to make you more sucessful, i highly suggest, no require you to dive into existentialism.

Some schools publish average GPAs. At top schools, they are around 3.2-3.3. Harvard is notorious for having a very high undergrad GPA around 3.5. Typically, engineering classes usually will give slight less GPA.

I think that your school is what you make of it. Every school has different attributes. Someone could say that they made a name for themselves even though they went to a tiny, not very prestigious state school, but that school had a large alumnae network that allowed the person to get a job. Every school has different resources, so it matters what school you go to as long as you can make the ...

I don't think this is new in PA, but maybe to this university. I always thought it strange when my S was required to take physical education classes at his college even though he was on the lacrosse team all four years. Between practices, Fall Ball and games he was physically active all year long.

Go buy earplugs. They are cheap at any pharmacy and then set your alarm louder. You can also buy those funky masks to cover your eyes if the light bothers you. Good luck.
If that doesn't work try passive aggressive and be really loud in the morning.

BMI is an easier way of determining obesity than calipers or full body immersion measurements, but it's not very accurate for anybody that's not a white male with an average build.

Not gonna happen. Your tuition won't get lowered if sports were to get cut. Your arguement is therefore pointless.

$500 is a lot in my opinion per each son, obviously you can afford it. How about a gift card to their favorite store/etc. Amazon.com has basically everything anyone could ever need buy etc, and in the end if they can't find anything they want they could use it for purchasing school books.

I met my closest friends because one was in my class first semester of freshman year, and also lived in my dorm. I then met her friends and we are now all friends.
