I would suggest that you are honest, but very tactful. Let them know that you received a provisional acceptance letter in the spring (or whenever it was) and that you completed your application a while back. Do not tell them that you were expecting a letter of acceptance by now, instead tell them that you know of other students who have already received a letter of acceptance and ask if you should also expect to receive one. Make sure after...

Hey Pierre--Thanks. My son's letter from admissions says spring. Since you actually are a student there have you found the real-life situation to be in December for most prospective students? That would be fantastic. Admissions just told me last week that, due to the economy, additional merit scholarship money may not be available even to deserving students. I can't remember if he said last year or the prior year, that they...

I submitted my application fairly late. I sent most of the material in November, but I didn't complete the entire application until early December.

I am ranked 29 out of 464, so I'm at the 6.25% mark. I hope you're right!

We are in the same situation. My daughter received a provisional acceptance on June 1 also. She submitted her application in early September and has not received an official acceptance. She is in the top 1% of her class. (We are in state.) I called admissions in October and was told that if the applicant is in line for a merit scholarship they would get their acceptance late October or early November. We are still waiting and wondering too.

Transportation to Airport -...

SouthEast Transportation is the only permitted shuttle service with the charlotte douglas international airport from upstate SC. This includes Clemson, Anderson and Seneca. The shuttle runs 5 times a day every 4 hours. We cater to all local universities and colleges. We also transport to and from GSP and ATL. If you are going to use a shuttle service make sure to ask for the CLT operating permit Number. If they do not have one or are not...

That sounds like a pretty typical southern frat to me. Once you're finished pledging, you can dress basically how you want (but there are a few no-no's, of course). You can party as much or as little as you want - fraternities obviously allow you to study because they like to maintain a high average GPA. As far as athletics, any frat is gonna be focused on gameday, and all of them that I've heard of compete in intramurals. My...

what's your class rank? I think that you qualify for an OOS waiver if you are in the top 10% of your high school graduating class and if you have a 1350/1600 on the SAT

My daughter's acceptance letter arrived within a few weeks of her applying. Is you GPA a little low or maybe your class rank? The explanation could be that eyebrows were raised if your transcripts didn't cut their muster, whatever that might be. Or, maybe they haven't received your transcripts? Have you called them to see if something that was supposed to arrive didn't?

RISE for males is housed in Sanders, one of the Shoeboxes and in my opinion the Shoeboxes are the best freshman dorms on campus. (Sanders and Cope are the male dorms, Young is for girls, Benet is co-ed). The Shoeboxes are located near the Union and a dining hall and isn't too far of a walk from most of your classes. The rooms are the biggest in size (not that much) among freshman dorms, there's ...

Some applicants have already received their acceptance, but those that have all seem to have received a "provisional acceptance" with an application fee waiver after their SAT (and maybe ACT scores) were received by the school. My understanding is that Clemson is no longer a "rolling admissions" school, but they obviously do accept students with high scores early. All of this information should ...

Thanks, pierre. DS isn't in the "top bucket" so I guess we won't be hearing until Feb. Hopefully - it will be good news and we will schedule a visit in the spring. Glad to see you're enjoying yourself? Are you getting used to the southern food yet?
