How I feel about Marvel and the...

I really liked Grant Morrison's New X-Men leather jackets, but I do agree that skin-tight, colorful long-johns are what superheroes really need to wear! I love every decade of comic books, from pretty much every company, but if I had to pick a least favorite, it would probably be DC in the 1960's. I like DC's 50's stuff a little better, even though I prefer Atlas, and DC in the 70's- while not too great- did at least...

DEFENDERS MASTERWORKS VOLUME 2:...

Either way, it make little difference to me as this volume will not be a part of my collection. You are, indeed, a wise man. But my position remains... if this "stuff" has to be reprinted, reprint it all , exactly as it appeared in the comic book. One shouldn't be compelled to buy other Masterworks to read a "complete" story.

Thor Odinson Fan Page!

I prefer Buscema to Kirby on almost everything honestly, just my preference on art, not a comment on either man. But regardless, I think Buscema might be the best Thor artist, followed by Simonson.

A third Rawhide Kid Masterworks would be awesome!!! It will feature the stories where they were longer than the previous issues. Getting into the really good issues.

Chromium: Love it or Hate it
Published (2009-12-04 18:31:24)
I really enjoyed some of the enhanced covers. I liked them when they were used properly. Like on the Silver Surfer #50 cover. The shiny look was very cool. I loved the Glow in the Dark Ghost Rider #15. But others just did not fit or made the cover look awkward. For instance the X-Men covers with the holograms. There was already some great art ont he wrap around covers and then they stuck a separate hologram image on the cover. It did not work....

Mere words cannot fully express my distaste of much of Marvel's 90s output. There are gems among all that foil, mind you, but for the most part, Marvel managed to make me hate the hobby I had grown up loving. DC was hardly better, but at least the art was good. Today, I find DC to be overall more satisfying, but even they are growing stale in my eyes of late. I'm hanging in there through Blackest Night, and still enjoy about 12...

OcCaM wrote: I also wouldn't mind seeing Man-Wolf...or some other obscure or small run Masterworks collection of course! I haven't done the math; is it possible to do Man-Wolf as a done-in-one? The issues would be Amazing Spider-Man #'s 124-125, Giant-Size Super-Heroes #1, Creatures on the Loose #'s 30-37, Marvel Premiere #'s 45-46, ASM #'s 189-190, and PPTSSM Annual #3. Seems a little hefty, but is it doable?...

As far as I know, the first time Namor met Cap in a story was likely All-Winners 19 - the All Winners Squad.
I'd like to give a tip of the hat to my very first Sub-Mariner tale. It was his battle with Captain America during the Avengers/Defenders War where Namor
was the only member of both teams to try to talk and reason with his opponent and thus put an and to all the misunderstandings.

Before I post my cover for today, here's the homage to Sentry's cover:
My cover:
Several qualities make this a standout from all comics currently on the stands in 1968:
1) All in different shades of green!
2) Completely blurb and dialogue-free!
3) An interesting use of Kirby Krackle by Kirby-disciple Steranko!
4) Well, um...Lorna Dane was sure a looker, wasn't she??...

Firstly I think this story would be in the third Defenders Masterworks since I think a couple of Avengers issues would be included in vol.2 for the
Avengers/Defenders war, (but this is debatable).
To answer your question, I think only the 9 page framing sequence would be included with brief notes to explain the inclusion.

I've always thought Sal Buscema had a great deal more potential than he was ever given the opportunity to display (which might have been because it seemed
like he was drawing most of Marvel's books at one point or another).

Ill just say becoming a comic reader in the 1990's i was never a fan of the FF. But i have recently purchased the first couple of omnibus and the first
Byrne Visionary trade and I am really enjoying them. I imagine by the end of the year ill have all the Masterworks read.

Ya, know Sentry of all the Marvel characters, I've read, this is the only one I haven't ! (Doctor Strange to, but I have an interest in Strange.)
What is a typical Kirby/Lee Thor comic like, I never liked the Shakespearean style text, is that in it? Does Thor mostly stay in Asgard? or does he venture to
cities??
So many Thor Qs!
