I'm hoping, you've just had a Eureka moment.... as reading about them, (I have seen them before just, never knew what they did), it seems if in contact with the radiator and keeping it frosty, it may work ? although does the other side of the TEC warm up to counter the cool side?, as it seems it does, so you'd still need a way to exhaust this 'hottness' All I worry about is the power it ...

Another idea would be to cancel the alienDell order. Discuss your needs and budget on this forum. Purchase the individual parts that are hand picked by you. Assemble them yourself and not only get the satisfaction that is your own DIY rig but the knowledge that goes hand in hand with such an endevour. Trust me. You will be back in two years with a two grand outdated rig and wish you have ...

Hello and welcome! Yes those temperatures are high even for a hot CPU like an i7, it could be a badly seated heatsink, bad (or badly spread, or too much) thermal paste, insufficient airflow inside the case, high ambient temperature, or a combination of the factors listed. You could try and see if there are slots for additional fans, in instance in the front of the case. In fact ...

Looking good, and i agree that having the card in the second slot can be a better idea, but why turn the TRUE so it blows towards the PSU instead of leaving it like in the first pic, blowing towards the rear exhaust?

It should be written on the sticker somewhere. Or it may give the current raring instead. Then you can work out the power from that using ohms law (P=IV).

Well, heat can ultimately lead to the premature failure of a drive, but all that most mechanical drives require is a bit of a breeze from a low rpm fan across them to keep them in check. Maybe give the cables a tdy? Get some spiral wrap and some cable ties? I tend to not have a lot of drives installed nowadays, they just use unnecessary power, create heat and noise, so I put them in ...

A lot of sites have been singing the praises of these, however the same sites were singing the praises of the CoolIT domino, and we found that to be a bit of a let down. This is just a guess, but looking at it logically, that single radiator would have to dissipate over 250w of heat if used on an overclocked i7. To put things into perspective, a Thermochill PA120, which is widely regarded as a...
