I've tried that a few times here in NJ and the shop owners have always staired at me with disbelief. But besides that, working on any car for me is always much more fun if I have decent tools - a couple of sets of snap-ons can take the edge off most otherwise boring jobs.

I'm not recommend to do the fuel line repair(at your skill level),because it's safety related. A little mistake may cause FIRE. I hope you have another car to drive, because I've read all of your threads from above and below on the head gasket project. You may end up neck deep into the DIY head gasket job,but hey why not. All Lexus tools are metric and the head bolts are 12 mm 12 point socket. You will need an 8 mm hex socket to...

Brake pad change question
Published (2009-11-05 16:12:00)
I looked at the factor service manual for a few other vehicles, and Toyota/Lexus factor service manual says to use "Brake Lubricant." I guess this might be slightly different than brake quiet. There's actually a couple of different Toyota part numbers for this lubricant, but I called around and it only comes with the shim kits. For some reason, when I ordered my kit, it didn't come with the little pack, so I ended...

It's commonly called screen bleed, and is very common. You can usually find a used one for sale, or there are several repair listings on *bay for roughly $75. I am trying this route myself, as I have the same issue. The screen itself has to be replaced, not just bulbs. Post a WTB on the sc classified forums and lookup member Aliga for used solution. Good luck, Alan

Probably yes. But think about it this way, do you see yourself keeping the car for more or less then another 8years? Then might as well get it over with now, unless you're planning ahead for a 2timing belt changes for the life of the car.
