Mileage is not the 454's forte. Go for the 350, swap the
big block to
someone that tows a heavy trailer.

You might want to pull it off and measure it,your damper length should be 3.400" if it is 3.875 you have a damper that is supposed to be a 351W or 302 H.O. with the
Ford Racing .917 crank sprocket. That damper can be used on a 351C with the above sprocket but requires having .070" machined off. This was noted on the instruction sheet that came with my balancer. If you still have the old stock ...

Those heads have screw in studs. They went to the pedistal rockers in 72 I believe..The "385" Ford big block never had rocker shafts to my

What engine is it intended for?
Is this a brand new, in the box, never used cam? If not - it's really tough to ID. If it's used, you'd be well advised to just let it go..
I'd never install an already run cam in any engine other than the one it was run in as they immediately take on a personality that is unique to each engine.
My 2 cents,
Glenn

seriously??? you feel you should go any speed you want?
above the law? speed limits have been around before you, you know. they are there for a reason and im damn glad i dont live around you if you feel its safe and normal to cruise the freeways at more than your limiter will allow. think that when you hit someone. ive lost friends to street racing and what you want to do is no different....

The accepted ratio that I am familiar with for normally aspirated engines is: 1-horsepower for 1-hour requires approximately .5 (1/2) pound of gasoline i.e., a single-cylinder engine producing 1-horsepower for 1-hour uses approximately .5 pound.
On a dyno this is expressed as Brake
Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC). Depending on the engine tuning, BSFC is typically .40 -.50, i.e., .4 to .5...
