Mk3 16v Golf
Published (2009-01-03 19:26:00)
Haha...Nice to see another Mk3 that needs a suspension overhall. For £250 you are probably looking at weitec. its about £170 for rebushing the whole car with powerflex bushes. You can buy them individually though, and the best ones to replace are the rear bushes in the front wishbones. Eibach make really good anti roll bars... and you could just do the front if you dont want to spend to much

Thanks - yes, probably won't be for sale for a month or two yet so hopefully things will pick up a bit before then. I am quite sure I should sell...

Greatest hot hatch of all time?
Published (2009-01-06 00:04:00)
Sunbeams are from a different era - same as Chevettes. You can't talk about those without mentioning a Mk2 Escort, yet where is it? Yes they're hatches, but they're not hot hatches. They're rally slags. The BMW is out of place also. The hot hatch IMO is about FWD. So forget the Escort Cosworth and Integrale - notally anomalous. Once rid of those, it starts to look a lot cleaner.

Genuine MK2 first Aid Kit

Well done you, I'm all for keeping the original stuff even if it's not in the car. Someone advised me not to ditch the original radio (working well but I wanted a better one with CD player) so that's tucked away.

We're running a poll at work to find the best hot hatch of all time and I need your support ensure a Golf wins... If you have a couple of minutes, any chance you could pop along to the link below and vote for a suitable GTi? Also, if you could forward on the link to any other dubbers, it would be most appreciated. Having a bit of a row with the editor about this one and need to prove him ...

Hi All, Firstly happy new year! Secondly, I've been mulling it over for a while I think it might be time to let my Mk2 go in favour of trying a few other things, namely getting a campervan. I've been trying to knock up a for sale advert and it's bringing back memories of all the blood, sweat and tears (and money!) that have gone into the car over the years and making me wonder if it'...

After looking for ages for an original '91 kit for sale and finding only one on Ebay and others that may fit but aren't genuine I searched for the manufacturer ( HEPP) and sent an e-mail to see if they still did them. Got a message back the next day saying they did. Sent a cheque with the equivalent of 15 and a week later had a brand spanking new genuine kit in my car. Now just need a warning ...

Had one of those tits in a Pug 306 Gti come up behind me... the guy who always has his fog lights on... Managed to get away from him but i bet he wasn't ****ting himself ...

I moseyed in to the dealers today (as you do) for one of my visits and have to say I was rather impressed with the new Golf Plus. Noooo not for speed, I have other cars for that but am thinking about replacing my daily Astra drive for something newer - bearing in mind I have a couple of big 7 stone Setters and need something to fetch horse feed and bedding in. I would be really interested ...
