What program are you using to backup the data? NTFS causing bad problems that is hard to figure without much more info? What format did you use to format the drive? And without a more indepth error message and what it says it hard to know what your drive is doing??

With a Intel corei7 in that thing and Windows 7 it will beat the shit out of any Mac.

Welcome to the forum Does the drive appear in Device Manager at all, perhaps with a yellow exclamation mark?

http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37133 Acer probably doesn't support on their hardware, there a few hacks for Sony Vaio laptops but they wont work on yours. //Danne
