Too bad they are probably going to charge for the next campaign which has already been announced. It is called "The Passing" and features a run in with the original L4D crew.

I pretty much played l4d to death, got almost all the achievements. I am starting to work my way though l4d2. Already finished all the campaigns with most of the chieves and starting to work on the mplayer chieves.

Gonna go ahead with the guardian maximus and a pair of 1.5 TB drives - any suggestions for or beefs with a particular brand / model?

To be honest, I played the hell out of it for a couple of weeks and then haven't been back. I was pissed off at all the bugs I was running in to and felt like Valve had released a beta. The worst was the near-consistent crashes I would get after a round change in scavenger. Nothing like working your ass off grabbing gas cans only to watch the game implode. I checked all the update notes since then but haven't seen any word that that...

If your rig will be mostly sitting in one place, I would try this kind of HDD docking station + an optional eSATA ExpressCard thingy so you can get much-better-than-USB2 speeds. The advantage here is that you can throw in any old SATA HDD like this one , which have the best price/gigabyte ratios. And if you fill one up you can just get more, treat 'em like big heavy floppy disks. The ...

It's a neat and useful idea, but it's essentially worthless right now if the people you want to talk to don't have it.

I use an excel spreadsheet and input stuff manually. My bank started charging for Money to download (like Quicken), so I said screw it, I'll track it in excel. At the End of the Year 2007, we had $47,200 in debt and today, we are down to 27,000. In 2006, we were at 54K in debt, and used the Money software, but Excel really helped with making the budgets more than Money.
