it's day 9 of frozen top. GovScah can certainly go for record day 10 of frozen top (sent SPX to 1110 in 10 minutes again). But the odd is not that good so far. Not I want to sound like gamble. But this is what this market all about under GovScahs. GovScah frozen top at SPX 1113

I used 2 service awards for 35 and 40 years of service to get Christmas gifts. That's the bulk of my gifts for Christmas, but I'll add a little (perhaps from estate sales).

The Tin Foilers were looking for a big delivery default today at the COMEX. Instead, the Cartel successfully scared all the tin foils into rolling their contracts, cashing out, etc. instead of taking delivery. Pretty much a non-event. Speculators might get wiped out on Monday once the results are public. Hats off to JPM and GS, vast profits made again at the expense of the CIGA's.

It's been a great year and I was looking for an exit point. This might as well be it. Closed miners, gold, QLDs - still holding PVX though - still like the dividends there.

Someone asked me what's the average duration of bear and bull markets. I'm sure the info is widely available, and some of you could prob put your hands on the info in a matter of seconds, but I just don't have that bookmarked. I was able to find after considerable searching this post documenting market behavior after extreme breadth lows (EBLs) going back to 1987. Ok, the price...

In that part of the world they mostly do LSTK type contracts. That is a difficult type of contract to manage if it very large. When costs start to go up the company who bid the work usually get killed on the costs going up. They can lose a lot of money. Many times in the rest of the world change orders are accepted if it is really a change. In that part of the world change ...

In the late '90s the speculators welcomed financial crises because theyknew it would mean that Greenspan would open the liquidity spigots to full open. And the speculators used this to make huge profits. The Fed has not changed..it's they only thing they know how to do. So any bad economic news or impending financial crisis is welcomed because the Fed will let the liquidity flow....

two explanations that seem to make some sense: 1. It is a result of someone or something, yet undisclosed, "blowing up". I don't really understand the technicalities behind it though. 2. Money managers calling it a year and parking cash in short term bills so they can basically say to their clients "we were up x%, took money off the table, and moved into short term cash instruments...

One of the country's problems is who we select as our leaders. Many, it seems, are either stupid or corrupt or both. The most fatal flaw is the people who create the problems are often then promoted to positions of greater authority. It's the equivalent of promoting the employee who has been successfully taking from the register for years to supervisor because he's best equipped to...
