I've said it before, but this is NOT AN ISSUE at all. I experienced this firsthand: a Dodge diesel idling about 50 paces away, and a prius driving in the lot about 100 paces away. The Prius' tires were louder than the dodge, which is the loudest of the Big 3 diesel trucks.

Apparently it works but taking a house full of seawater and filling it with batteries. A particularly cool use of this would be to store cleanly-generated electrical energy in sea water and then use it to power a desalination plant.
