The 2006 Honda Civic Service Manual is $56.50 here (hopefully the link will work): http://www.helminc.com/helm/product2...C00&itemtype=N I picked one up as soon as they became available. That price doesn't seem too out of line: it pays for itself the first time you do anything significant, say valve clearance check. Using the valve clearance check as an example, it's still not 100% informative. I found it necessary to remove...

Hi All; Since we're on the topic of EBH's: In addition to the EBH benefits already stated by Mendel, there's one in particular that escapes most folks until it is too late. Do you know which am I talking about? Yes, the emission control system... which in itself is a pretty pricey thing to deal with. I am talking about the rather precious 3-way catalytic converter along with the accompanying minor hardware (O2 sensors ) and so...

I have 25 stop lights on my short 13 mile commute to work and on a nice warm day I can easily hit the mid to upper 60mpgs. My best was 74mpg. It's all a matter of knowing how and when to exploit what the HCHII can do with your commute. I've had recent mornings in the upper 20's, lower 30's and can still pull 58 - 59mpgs. Like MSantos has said before it also takes dedication Jess

With such extreme tire pressures, would that not have a negative effect on the car's suspension? I run mines at 40 psi and that is a concern for me also the ride is very rough. I am thinking of putting back down to 36psi. Any comments?

PSY - get her a bright yellow car. Apparently they are the most visible and a smaller percentage less likely to be in accident. Also, according to this article, 30% of us have a gene that makes us bad drivers and don't learn from mistakes: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=16670

Is that typical of Mazda dealers??? I know the Mazdas are supposed to be kinda sporty, but I had no idea their dealers were that customer friendly. I had a Honda problem with our 1995 Accord years ago.The radiator started leaking at 37,000 miles- warranty 36,000. I call an online seller to order the radiator, and the guy tells me he sells lots of these radiators-they commonly fail, and the new radiator is a reengineered one. Sure enough the...

Hi Linx3566:
You bet it does... and in a VERY big way. More often than not this is the source of the greatest deficit in terms of FE often accounting for 10-15 MPG loss (depending on the driver and commute regimens).
Other big sources of MPG loss overlooked by some owners:
- Short trips on a cold engine
- Driver doing some or all of the wrong things while driving
- Poor tire pressures ...

I did not read your posted link. But in my mind right to repair can mean a lot of things. For me it concerns most cars I've ever owned. I was repairing crap on my 06 Civic EX sedan before Honda and there over paid college boys would admit to a problem. From the rear camber issue, wheel bearing, faulty rear seat duct issue,,,,, hell the list went on and on. My time is worth more than any a-hole ...

Without an OBDII code, it could be a short easy to fix, or a $2000 box to fix.
I have had a short that's easy to fix, but the IMA light is scary.
Is there an autoshop that will read the OBDII code?
They can't fix it, but you can Google and ask here about the code, and give you an idea what you're up against.

Bummer, but glad you guys are OK
Is that a hybrid? Did the battery / IMA disengage?
Sometimes I wonder if Civics are invisible or something. My buddy got rear-ended by a truck in his regular civic

Hi Hunter;
I believe its time to perform a power reset on your car. Depending on the circumstances, I've often suggested to some HCH-II owners that a power reset sequence be performed at least once every year. Just for giggles, I would suggest you do the same.
Provided that all other systems are in good standing order you likely see an noticeable improvement.
Cheers;

Hi MSantos
How do you do this PRP thing to your HCH, MSantos? I did a search without success.
Cheers,
